McB's Mercantile Ice Cream — Restaurant in West Jefferson

We bought a $24 hold fast brand shirt and didn’t opt to get a receipt. The next day my husband wore the shirt after naturally taking the tag off and throwing it away. As the day progressed I noticed some holes in the left shoulder and strings coming from the right shoulder. We tried exchanging the shirt that same day for the exact same size, exact same shirt and the girl at the counter called the owner to find out what to do. She asked us if we had the tag and the receipt and I told her no, we opted out of the receipt and we threw the tag away. We were able to find the purchase on our banking app and she was able to find the purchase on the computer from the day before. She called the owner again and the owner said we had to have the tag in order to exchange it. Every time we’ve been to West Jefferson we have gone to this store and spent a decent amount of money to support local and because of its Christian theme and music in the store. On the way out of West Jefferson we noticed so many other mercantile stores and cute local stores we will happily be supporting in the future instead...

Store is nice yet small. My only complaint is they charge a fee for paying with a card. If I would have been told the fee at checkout, I would have walked out. There is no display that you will charged a fee and they charged my debit card the fee which is against the laws for charging credit cards fee. Please know the laws when it comes to charging this fee. A debt card is considered electronic cash there for it cannot be charged a card fee. If I come back I’ll make sure to...

I had pumpkin spice ice cream from here 3 weeks ago and loved it! I came back yesterday (2 hour drive from my house for a weekend getaway) and they had sold out but I was told to check back today. I went back today and they were still out. The sweet girl working told me she would take my number and let me know if any came in. Within 30 minutes she called me and said that it had been delivered.
