So my sister suggested we go to Micks for lunch since I'd never been there and she said the food was really good. The layout of the restaurant was beautiful and we were greeted by a super sweet, attentive, and informative hostess, so I had high hopes for this experience. Our drink order was taken and brought out fairly quickly and we then ordered our food. Not long after another waiter, not our original one, brought out our meals. It looked great. I got the bacon cheddar chicken wrap. Well after one bite I was so upset because I didn't like it AT ALL. It had an "over grilled" taste if that makes sense. My sister got a beef tip sub and loved it so I tried hers and figured I'd ask if I could get that instead. So after about 5 mins our waitress finally reappeared at the booth behind us. She spent the next 10-15 minutes talking with that table while we waited patiently for her to step over 2 inches and acknowledge us. Once she's finished talking with them she STILL doesn't check on us. My sister is done eating, my drink is empty and I've eaten nothing but a few bites of my sister's meal. Finally after 20 minutes of waiting the waitress returned and she did get the meal taken I didn't eat taken off of my bill but at this point I didn't have time to wait for another order to be made so I just asked for the check and left without food for myself. I still tipped 25% because I understand stuff happens and I don't believe anything was "wrong" with the good, but that is was more of it wasn't something I liked the taste of. I was only annoyed that we went 20 minutes plus without any acknowledgement from our waitress at 2pm on a very slow Tuesday. I do intend to try Micks again and I can only hope that my next dining experience will be alot more pleasant. Sorry for my rant! Atmosphere and amount of activities they have planned make it a really neat and unique place to have in Willow Street! I have high hopes that this was a one...
Read moreMy wife and I really like to go to local restaurants. Although we have had reasonable experiences with Mick's in the past, this experience was one of the worst dining experiences we have had.
It was around 8:45 so the restaurant was not that busy besides some bar people. We were seated and our server came up and asked what we wanted. My wife asked about the drink specials which the server responded " oh yeah we have some". He flipped to a page in his pad and said something about how he had not looked at what they were made of but he named some different flavors. We ordered sodas instead and he left.
He came back 10 minutes later and said "Do you want to eat anything?". We then ordered and mentioned we wanted the appetizers first. Well at least 20 mins later the appetizers get to us cold. The nacho platter which we use to love was primarily beans and burned chips. I believe they had been ready for a while but were not brought to the table in time. The server came back in around 5 minutes with all our other food. So the food was not paced well.
The entries were bairly ok. The pubwhich was bland and lacked much of the ingredients. The fish and chips were ok but very soggy and not very crisp.
Most of the time, I would not blame food quality on the server so I usually do not have issues with the service. However, our server was more concerned with rolling silverware and napkins then to check back with us. Needing a refill I actually had to get the attention of a host that was walking by the bar since my server was turned with his back to our section. Also once he brought the Toast app payment system to us to pay the bill we were told to "Ignore the survey because we don't do anything with that". When I was typing to get my for my receipt to be emailed to me he stopped me and said " you are not doing the survey right?"
Just a sad night of less than appetizing food and bad service. Just not what we expected...
Read moreMy family and I ordered from here because the menu had great items on it. However, our experience was terrible. After placing my order, I was told to pick up in 20 mins. We arrived 22 mins later. The order wasn't ready for almost an hour. The person who took my order was Megan. She was pleasant via phone, she told me to pick up at the bar. When we arrived, we went to the bar where 3 employees were (2 males, 1 female), NO ONE welcomed us, acknowledged us, or waited on us until about 8 mins after arrival, the female said "are you being helped?" Even though, she KNEW we weren't helped because she's the bartender and NEVER helped us.đ I told her I was picking up and gave her my name. About 45 mins later a different female came over with 2 bags and said our order was ready. I knew it wasn't the whole order because our order was large and 2 items were pizzas. We continued to wait for the remainder of the order which wasn't complete until another 12-15mins. We received no silverware, no napkins, no friendly service, nothing. But by this point, I didn't want anything else from them because I was upset. Especially because a white guy came in 5 mins after us, sat at the same bar, 2 seats down, and was greeted & waited on expeditiously. I'm usually a generous tipper but NO TIP was given and I will NEVER order from here again. Our order was almost $200 and the prices are fairly low, you'd think we'd at least be greeted but nope. I ordered chili and the crab pretzels; unimpressive. My kids said the pizza was "okay". My nephew's hotdog was undercooked. The ribeyes were mediocre and the mashed potatoes were good. The salad was good but the dressing was an extra $1/each. The presentation was trash also. And after waiting so long for a "20 min" order, the food had the nerve to be cold as ice.đ I could go on and on about this terrible experience but I have other reviews to write, for better places with better service and...
