Music was very loud, my husband nor I could hear each other speak until the end of a song. Undoubtedly the waitress couldn't even hear me because my order was not completely correct. (Should've sent it back but after waiting over 30 minutes for it I didn't) The hottest item brought to the table was the bean dip!! I ordered fajita nachos after asking waitress if they were a dry nacho or wet, explained wanting to know approximately how much cheese came on it. Ordered after being told about medium. Needless to say I spent $13.99 to eat chips w salsa! I had to scrape the dish to get any cheese sauce. Granted there was some cheese on top that hadn't even melted. My husband decided to order a la cart since he didn'tknow what he wanted and to find a new item when going out: beef enchilada, chicken enchilada, tamale and rice. Cheese on everything he ordered had already become solid again due to how cold the food had gotten. We should have sent our order back, but as mentioned earlier in this review it took over 30 minutes to get our order and due to how loud it was we were really ready to leave! I wish I had taken pictures, honestly would have had I not originally told my husband that this experience didn't even deserve a review. I try to find the positive in every experience so here is the positive part of our experience: the tea, table salsa and bean dip were really good. The remodel of this building is really nice also, staff...
Read moreA new Mexican style restaurant in West Monroe. Located in the old El Chile Verde Restaurant building. Located a block from the Walmart Super Center, on the Thomas Road I-20 Service road, and located beside a Hotel. I visited this restaurant in March of 2019, where I took photos and prepared this review. I enjoyed my visit very much and will return 😊. I hope they see this and make the changes I noted to the restaurant.
*Pros: Delicious Salsa and Bean Dip for starters while you wait for your food. Delicious meals, appetizers, drinks, and deserts. Friendly and efficient staff. Servers and front of house staff I dealt with speak English and Spanish Well (they are quite Fluent in both, as am I). Fast Service and short waits to be expected here. They have a lunch specials menu. Easy to find restaurant. Great atmosphere, design, and decor that all go together so well.
*Cons: Needs more selection on the lunch menu, specifically they need more beef items. Moderately priced dining. Very busy restaurant. Was quite noisy during my visit.
Note: In research of this restaurant, No food illnesses reported so far by Customers, and no public records of health code...
Read moreI was hesitant to give this review, but felt it might be helpful to patrons not familiar with the restaurant. I ordered from the lunch menu, requesting a chimichanga but with no rice or beans. The lunch menu describes this as coming with lettuce, tomato, guacamole and sour cream. Our server chose to make it an a la cart order due to no beans and rice. When I explained I wanted the lettuce, etc, I received a plate of lots of lettuce, a tablespoon of guacamole, and a sprinkling of tomato. That "guacamole salad" was 5.99. My chimichanga was 8.99. The lunch (including the beans and rice) was priced around $12. Apparently the server has difficulty with the English language, which is why I didn't make a big deal of the ticket, but I didn't tip my standard 20%. I split the tip to make up for the outrageous price, and the lack of common sense. The food is very good, but if I do find myself there again, I will be sure to spell it out and point at the picture on the menu, and possibly waste the beans and rice in order not to be...
