Today was my first day at this place, I went to buy a pumpkin pie with my mother. The one star is for the cashiers and customer service, I never got to try their product and after this experience I will never go to any place called "Dulce de leche".
My story: There was a long line since it was holiday that's why the first thing I did was ask one of the cashiers if they had pumpkin pie. A blonde cashier said "yes, we have them". Good. I followed the line willing to wait because pumpkin pie is very important for us in a Thanksgiving day, there were like 10 people before me but after about 15 minutes, a group of teenagers came in and started ordering!!! I kindly told them that they had to do the line but they said in front of the cashiers "no, we just came in for coffee and when you buy only coffee you don't wait" since none of the cashiers said anything and they took their orders right away I thought that was a rule (it was my first time) but then I saw those teenagers buying bread and they took a long time!!! at that point I was getting so mad and tired of waiting, I only wanted my pumping pie.
After 30 minutes or so ( we arrived at 3:10 and came out around 3:45), lo and behold!!!, my turn has finally arrived! so, I asked for a pumpkin pie and they were like "we don't have pumpkin pie" ...I calmly said "this lady points to the cashier next to her, the one with blonde hair (more like peroxide blonde hair) told me that there was pumpkin pie and I waited 30 minutes just for it...I asked before doing the line just in case there was none and she said -yes we have them-" then she was like "oh no, that was apple pie...don't you want apple pie?" ...=_=
Worst customer service ever, they don't know what they have, they tell customers "yes, we have them" without even paying attention to their questions and people can skip the line and...
Read moreLately the ladies in charge are super rude and bullies. All the girls have bad faces and no one seems happy. I have been a customer since the 1st bakery opened and all locations. This JC location is poorly managed lately. There is a huge decline in friendliness, seems dirty, gloomy and not welcoming. The glass windows and front door are disgusting. Marks everywhere. Tables and chairs sticky with crumbs everywhere. In my last visit a lady walked to my table and tried grabbing my plate that i was still eating from " i said what are you doing ? Who said you can come touch my paper plate ?. I was sitting there with my 2 kids had just sat down 10 mins spent $60" she said " i am the manager" i said i do not care who you are. No one has ever come remove paper plate from my table while i am still eating all the food i ordered. Dear Owner: you need to hire new management or train your staff. It's like a flea market and nothing like the "argentinean culture" vibe. I am argentinean and i enjoy the freshness of the food there but the service has gone down terribly. Necesitan gente que sepan ser professional to the clients and to the staff. NO ONE SHOULD BE LITTLE A STAFF MEMBER OR CO WORKER OR CUSTOMER. I think Dulce De Leche forgot its humble beginnings and its ran by people who look like don't want to be there. I was there today 6/29. Girl who helped me was being talked down by some lady who seems to think she is talking to her children. I will be calling the NJ...
Read moreI am sharing my experience today. I spoke to a lady on the phone to change a pick up date for next week Sat. 7/27/24. I ordered online last night on Thursday 7/18/24 and called to change the time on the morning of today on Friday 7/19/24 to change the date and time due to a discrepancy. When I ordered online it generated the incorrect time to pick up the order. Which she did change the time when I called to adjust it this morning on Fri. 7/19/24. She had explained after I called the second time to change the day since she already called once to change the time she wasn’t able to call again the change the day. I had told her that I wasn’t aware of that and if I was aware I would have double checked. She made it seem like she told me when clearly which she didn’t. The customer service was so terrible that she even told me condescending that she thinks I don’t understand anything which you shouldn’t even tell a customer. The cake is not even made as of yet, and the change was only the day and time. I purchased and spent a lot of money on cakes and catering from the Dulce de leche bakery in West New York all the time for all family birthdays and occasions. To be treated that way, they lost a good customer and it left such a bad taste in my mouth. It was supposed to be a birthday cake for my birthday and the customer service experience that I went through I wish no one would have to go through. I will not be ordering from Dulce de Leche bakery going forward...
