Pollo Campero — Restaurant in West New York

Just received my order and was left outside in the rain, who does that? Horrible service and impossible and to call the store directly. 1 star

Edit 10/14/2022 Changing my review from 1 star to 5. Reasons, I feel this company cares. A day after the experience from a very poor delivery, today I received several calls from Pollo campero team, from their corporate and the store manager. The where very kind and I can tell they care about their customers. They explain, delivery services are being offered through a third party service which is not directly related to the store. Obviously not their fault on the unprofessional service offered by the deliberate person/driver. It was unfortunate because our food got wet (thank God for the air fryer) however I am grateful to the entire Apollo Campero team for their attention to their customers. It is appreciated. Corporate, should consider budgeting for internal delivery people rather that working with a third party. Note our food was delivered through door dash but I ordered from pollo campero website.

First time in the restaurant and i was told in order to have the specials would have to download an “App” .. Downloaded an app from Guatemala and showed it to the employee which told me i had to fill in my information. Wasted my time trying to access an app that wasn’t the correct one! They did not even know how to help me out! Order and paid full price which is not an issue . Went to the second floor to eat due to having family over and several children. After eating for the first 30 minutes one employee comes and tells us we can’t be on the second floor unless it’s full on the first floor. Minding that they saw us going upstairs and nobody said anything. Second employee comes up and tells us that we have to go downstairs “NOW” I was with kids and an elder person and they started to eat fast which is not correct! The last few times I’ve eaten at Pollo Campero from this location, the chicken has been undercooked inside. I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence, but both times this happened it was on a Sunday night, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I’m a big fan of Pollo Campero—I truly think it’s the best chicken—but on these last two occasions, I basically had to throw it away. Not only does it taste unpleasant when it’s undercooked, but it’s also unsafe to eat.

If Pollo Campero is reading this, please know I’m writing this with good intentions, not to tear down the restaurant. I would love to keep enjoying the delicious chicken I’ve always had here, but if it happens a third time, it will be hard for me to come back.
