My family and I have been doing to this restaurant for years. We drive about an hour just to go eat Colombian good food which we can’t really find sound our way. The waiters and waitresses are always very attentive and friendly. Food is great and we love that there’s music and a dance floor. Additionally, we are able to bring our kids to enjoy as well. With all that said we must express our disappointment this New Year’s Eve. As I stated before we come from far, this year we wanted to do something different so we opted to go for their New Year’s celebration. They had posted on social media about their celebration, which stated they were charging a $30 fee per child, no entrance fees for adults, NO RESERVATIONS NEEDED and you pay for what you consume. This sounded perfect so we called to confirm. We arrived at 8:20pm, my husband went to find parking and I went inside with my kids. Immediately an older lady approached us(assuming she’s the owner) and asked if we had reservations, I told we didn’t have reservations and that we had called earlier to confirm what their announcement said and we were told we didn’t need reservations. She begins to tell me ALL TABLES are reserved. She then proceeds to tell me people were calling in an offering to pay pretty much anything as long as they reserved a table so she decided to take reservations. I texted my husband who was already on his way in and she told him the same thing. Then asked him to pay her $100 for a table. How can you advertise one thing and then decide you are going to do something else? It would have been a good idea to update your social media advertisement and let us know when we called. Now it’s nearly 9pm, we hadn’t had dinner, most places are booked and there’s nowhere for us to go. We spent our New Year’s Eve driving around until we were lucky enough to find a place that would accommodate us. Yes, we could’ve paid the $100 for the table but I was in no mood to be scammed on New Year’s. It’s unfortunate but we won’t be...
Read moreI just left this place..tonight I came to watch la Sonora Dinamita..the cover charge was 10..when I called to buy my tickets I was told there was no charge ..I tried to make reservation and was told they don't make reservation. When I got to the place at 9 I waited for a table and never was told I needed to buy a bottle to stay at the table to watch the show. It was 11.00 when I was still consuming and our very rude waitres informed us that as per the manager we had to buy a 65 dollar bottle if we wanted to stay. Mind you our dinner bill was already 111 and not done with drinks but did not want to buy a bottle. We kindly first asked to see the manager but she refused to let us see him. Until my badass friend went to find him. To our surprise he said he had never asked us to leave but there was a mandatory purchase of a bottle to stay. One.. We did not want to buy a bottle. Since the three of us in the car are very conscience of the law..two work with affiliated agencies and I work for an attorney. 2nd if they had mention that at the door we would of chosen to go else where ..we wanted to have a good time and dance but getting drunk was not our goal and we could of spend our 100+ and much more...anywhere else . they were very rude. They told us we were not allow to order frozen margaritas or sangria yet at other tables they were serving it. I don't mind the bitchy attitude but I do mind the fact that they are inducing people to drink in order to enjoy their establishment and the lying about reservation..they had reserved tables. I have the money to spend but I guess at Rancho Mateo I have to be Colombian to have good service...it's ok.. I won't be spending a dime ..although I have nothing against Colombians ..God I love the ones I have!!!! Thanks for ruining my friends bday...
Read moreWhere do I start... I placed an order for pickup. I was told it was going to be ready in 20 minutes and when I arrived I was told that I had to wait because they never sent the order. They only place the order when you arrived because in the past people leave their orders there. I was not informed of this on the phone when I placed the order nor I was offered the opportunity to pay in advance. This totally defeats the purpose of placing an order to be ready for you to pick up.Then I notice they had a new menu and decided to give it a try. I ordered a Vaca Frita and I was told they were out of Vaca Frita😟. I was tempted to try the seafood soup but he was going to take 45 minutes to make. Then I ordered a Bistek a caballo which had a special smell to it. I thought it was the sauce on top of the meat because it contains tomato but it wasn't. It was the actual meat with a vinegary smell and taste. I addressed the issue with the manager who was very nice and went to the kitchen to check (not sure what he was going to check was all you needed was a nose to smell it). I gotta say, he was very nice and apologized and said that it may have been just that piece of meat cuz everything else is fine in the kitchen. I'm taking his word for it. I obviously did not eat the meat, but I did eat the sides cuz I was hungry and payed for the full meal. I was offered an apology flan.. I took it cuz I did not want to be rude. By the way my daughter says that it was...
