El Carretero 66 — Restaurant in West New York

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I ordered the calentado con carne, the steak came out smelling rotten. The taste had an acidic/ gag reflex to it. I send it back to the kitchen, takes them 30 mins to bring out a new plate (I substituted the steak for chicken). Unacceptable and dangerous. When I sent the food back they left me at the end of the queue. They didn't bother to fix my order first! Poor service and disgusting how they treat customers/ food. My partner who already started eating their calentado con pollo, had the middle of their chicken breast pink! I ended taking the plate to go because at this point who knows if they spit on my food. I tried to cancel the order after the 10 min mark and was told it's ready. 4x I was told it was ready before they brought it out to me. Save your money & stomach. This place needs to be inspected. How can you send out rotten steak and undercooked chicken...

For Order by Pick up Service is HORRIBLE. I get headache just to call put me always on hold and I mean always here all conversation on phone with another person “ not customers “and lady’s name Ana with another conversation but not take my order. She smile loudly with another coworker relative I have to hear all and them she hang up the phone is left off the hook. I have to call back, she pick up “ Ana” said sorry not listening me but I listen her conversation another person not customer. That bad services when I go to pick up, I literally always have to wait 15 minutes . At the end she have to call me back because she doble bill in my Debit card . Many Friends and Family have ordered from “El Carretero 66”. One 100% Negative to this Restaurant is the FACT that You Call, They pick up and leave the Phone Off The Hook. Sad is the FACT that you hear them so Clear taking Orders but they NEVER come back to this PHONE. Worse is that they PICK UP but NEVER say Hold - Please. They Just Leave The Phone Off The HOOK.
