We just returned home from Benji's. This is a restaurant where we routinely placed orders for delivery. Today, we decided to stop by for breakfast. We ordered one order of steak tacos and two orders of gorditas, one with chicharrones and one with steak. We were informed the gorditas would take 15-20 minutes, which was fine.
As we waited for our orders to be completed, the waitress was in the back of the restaurant kissing and making out with a gentleman. Highly unprofessional. My husband then requested to have the tacos as we waited for the gorditas. The tacos were very fresh and delicious.
Once the gorditas arrived, it was immediately obvious the corn gorditas were over cooked, very hard to bite and uncomfortable to chew. My steak was good but the casing was horrible. My husband's gordita sandwich was filled with mainly lettuce, crumbled cheese and sour cream. It was so uncomfortable to chew, my husband decided to eat just the meat. There was barely any chicharrones visible to be eaten. We decided to voice our displeasure with our meals to the waitress. The waitress then proceeds to tell the cook we were unhappy because there was hardly any chorizo (we ordered chicharrones) and the cook became highly annoyed. He stated my husband should have said something before he ate one of the gorditas, they come in three, and there was indeed enough meat in the sandwich. We opened the sandwich for him to see and he continued to argue with us, complaining very loudly in spanish, which my husband speaks fluently, and was very argumentative and unprofessional. We decided not to place a second order of tacos to replace the gorditas, and we left the restaurant highly annoyed, disrespected and no longer with an appetite to eat anything from this restaurant. As we were leaving, the cook continued to make disparaging comments insinuating we were trying to get a free meal.
I left my two gorditas on the table, my husband paid for our meals, left the waitress a tip and vowed never to return to this establishment with highly unprofessional employees. The picture displays one of the three gorditas. I opened one and consumed the steak only. At the end of this ordeal, we paid 37 dollars, which included a 7 dollar tip, for one...
Read moreOk where do i begin?! This place is awesome and you can’t listen to everyone because most people have terrible pallets. But when I say everything is a hit on this menu if you understand Mexican cuisine, then you’ll be super satisfied. i’ve gotten to the point where I’ve eaten there four times in one week I am pregnant and my baby loves their Tres leches cake today I tried the flan Again another hit! the guacamole has to be made fresh every day. It’s chunky and flavorful. The rice and beans which usually I think most Spanish places just cook rice and beans plain. They don’t have flavor to it a.k.a. seasoning, but I actually just ordered a side of rice and beans with guacamole today and I am super satisfied , now the last order I had one of the young girls forgot to put my Tres leches cake inside the bag. I had already gone home so when I looked in the bag it wasn’t there I called and one of the guys hand-delivered it to me, let’s talk about the quality of their packaging in bags. I am in love with this place , who ever is the tall guy brown skin thick build he’s a joy he delivers always in...
Read moreThe only reason they are getting two stars instead of one was because they comped our meal.
Ordered a chicken fajitas with rice and beans and got a sizzling chicken with peppers and zucchini. On the menu it said peppers and onions so we sent it back. The dish they brought out was not sizzling and was drowning in some kind of red sauce. The waitress said that was how the "chef" made it. We sent it back again, however by this time we were mad that the "chef" never attempted to make fajitas and our other party was finished so we just asked for the check. On the check was a charge for the rice and beans that came with the fajitas. The waitress said that the manager had told her to change us because we ate the rice and beans.
When I asked for the manager, some guy came out but he said that he wasn't the manager but he was the one who told the waitress to charge us. He said that there wasn't any manager there although after arguing with him about all this and telling him that this was our first time there and telling him I wanted our meal comped, he agreed.
First and last visit. Utter...
