Cocina Grill & Pizzeria — Restaurant in West Orange

My fiancé and I decided to come in for pizza today 7/3/24. His second time, my first and our last time. He ordered a chicken ranch/bbq pizza and I, a pepperoni pizza. When we received the pizza both pizzas were placed in a small single box (enough for one slice) stacked on top of another, with just one plate. I have never received my pizza in that manner ever any time we’ve order from any other place. On top of that my fiancé does NOT eat pork, my pizza was placed on top of his with no separation and the oil from my pizza dripped onto his. We tried to express we wanted to have them separated, however, not one staff member knew English…and at that point it’s nothing they can do for us to help us remedy this issue. Even if we tried to express that we want a refund they wouldn’t understand….with all due respect being in a predominantly English speaking country to consider the success of your business and the happiness of your customers you should have staff that can communicate with all customers who support your business. I have yet to even eat this pizza because I am so turned off. Not to mention, one of the customers watched my fiancé the entire time as she ate near their register/desk, which I assume she’s a regular and she made us feel uncomfortable approaching us asking us weird questions and wishing me a merry Christmas today….After our experience I have no interest in coming back nor recommending this place. Ordered a pie for myself. My mother and mdepth father, what happened was short of what you would get when you would open a Taco Bell bathroom all of us got food poisoning. The pizza was on the cooked, worst of all my mother and stepfather got diarrhea while I was almost vomiting. Out of the toilet at 1 AM in the morning. Worst of all I couldn't even move. I had to crawl to the door to get to the bathroom. Because that's how terrible the food was. Word to the wise if you're going to sell Mexican food and Italian food. No 12 try and brand in yourself. Because really you might as well just be a Mexican food restaurant. Because your child in food is laughable. At best and I'm the worst. I've better see Stevie Wonder and there cause even he couldn't make a better pizza than whoever made it never again, avoid...

Little hidden gem! A friend of mine introduced me to this place and now I come here weekly!! Their pupusas are amazingly delicious and consistent. I get them every week and they’re always prepared exactly the same. Try the pupusas with everything (pork, beans & cheese) they’re less than $3 each and two can be a meal. Today I had their special Mexican sweet corn tamales. At $2.75 each they come with a Crema and wow just wow I killed it and needed a second serving.
