I wanted to wait a few days before I posted a review. I bought the coffee beans (made inhouse) and wanted to take the time to try out the coffee.
First of all, it's a brand new coffee shop. It's located right across Dollar Tree and AutoZone on Main Street. Lots of parking that is shared by other businesses. Lots of buses, especially the 24.
It's a nice and cozy shop. It feels very indie and a good place to grab a cup of brew and some pastries.
It's the new kid on the block so it's still fresh. The staff is great, very upbeat and hospitable. The atmosphere is very coffee shop feel.
Now for the coffee... They offer the basic standard coffee drinks, but the kicker is the shop produces its own beans in the back. So it's not like other shops where they will use store products or other vendors. These beans are freshly roasted and served. It's like farm to table, except that it's coffee beans.
I bought the dark roast. To me, it tastes great. I like to drink espressos and the beans that I used tasted smooth, not too bitter and it was a very good espresso. A lot of times, espressos are an acquired taste and is somewhat bitter, but at least the one I made was smooth. I'm glad I bought the beans. I like to try different beans.
If you are ever in the area or live in the area, stop by.
Remember, it's the new kid on the block so give it time. It's a local business and let's support the shop.
If you are like me and like to grind your own beans, give this roast a try. The shop offers light roast, dark...
Read moreWe’ve been really excited about this new coffee place opening near us, especially since there aren’t many good spots around here. We arrived a few minutes after they opened. The place is lovely and kid-friendly, with toys and chairs along the walls.
The owner and the barista were very sweet and answered any questions we had. The owner, a former New Yorker, shared a little backstory with us, which we appreciated. My wife noticed a few Filipino-themed items like ube on the menu and a kids’ book in Tagalog. The owner mentioned that his wife was the author.
Now, onto the coffee! They roast their own beans in the back, which we love because it means you can only find that coffee there. However, we weren’t as impressed with the coffee this time; it was a bit light, and the milk or almond milk overpowered it. I have a feeling the machine wasn’t fully warmed up for the day, which might have been the reason. We literally arrived right when they opened. We’ll definitely come back another time to give it another try. It wasn’t bad coffee; it...
Read moreI’m so happy to have a local roaster like Orange Sky Coffee Roasters so close to me! I first ordered online and was impressed by how fresh and flavorful the beans were—now it’s my go-to spot for coffee. They roast their beans on a weekly basis, so you’re always getting a fresh batch, and you can really taste the difference. I recently had the pleasure of stopping by in person for more beans and a latte, and it was such a great experience. The decor is super cute, the vibe is welcoming, and there are so many delicious sweet treats to choose from. I’ll definitely be coming back regularly for my fresh...
