My harrow story Extremely Disappointing Experience
I'm extremely displeased with the service I received at five guys west orange New Jersey location . Unfortunately, my experience was marred by blatant discrimination, unprofessional gossip, and humiliation. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with scorn by the staff. They seemed put off by my ethnicity/appearance , and it showed in their demeanor and tone.especially the light skin and dark skin guy. To make matters worse, I overheard staff members gossiping about me and my company It was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I felt humiliation and dismissiveness. I left in disbelief and pain as it was my first time at this location and I was so excited because I was a fan of this fast food chain now I would never ever in my life nor my family or my friends co workers eat from this chain of restaurants anymore I will be addressing this issue at the highest level I can these men need to me put behind the doors or out the doors because they are setting a bad reputation for five guys. The dark skin guy and the cashier was the main perpetrator influencing the guy that is preparing the beef Pattie’s to look in my direction and laugh Im a moderately dressed pretty boy with a off the runway male fur bag and immediately as we entered the store I was judged. The tension the body language and the facial expressions of the cashier took me out till we told him to give us a minute. Because we got so uncomfortable luckily a lady pick up what was happening and came to aid us but it’s was even more fake. We proceeded out they all gathers in the corner close to the beef Pattie’s and was having a detailed conversation. It is so sad in this day and age spending customers have to face discrimination from employees. Needless to say, I will never be returning to five guys west orange nj I would advise others to think twice before supporting a business that tolerates discrimination and unprofessional behavior. Read moreI like raise a concern regarding an experience I had at this location between approximately 8:30 and 8:45 PM. Upon entering the store, I observed another customer being assisted without any issues. However, when it was my turn to place an order, the employee on duty informed me that the system was down and she could not take my order. While I initially accepted this explanation and exited the store, I found the situation puzzling. As I returned to my car and drove past the front of the store, I noticed that the same employee was continuing to take orders from other customers, a group ahead of me, as well as two families after me, all of whom appeared to be of different ethnic backgrounds. Based on this sequence of events, I am deeply concerned that my family and I may have been treated unfairly due to our different ethnic. If the system had indeed been down, I would have expected consistent communication to all customers and for the store to temporarily stop accepting orders. Instead, it appears that the refusal of service was selectively applied, which is both troubling and unacceptable. I hope that appropriate steps will be taken to investigate this matter and ensure fair, respectful treatment of all customers moving forward. Read moreUPDATE: From 4 stars to 3. This location is becoming less and less a favorite. My complaint is staff not being sanitary while handling cooked food. There are plenty disposable gloves, but seldomly used. The person handling the counter, i.e., assembling the burgers, should absolutely not be touching their cell phones in between preparing food without changing gloves. That is highly unsanitary and puts consumers at risk of bacterial infection. The guy preparing my burger stopped to check his phone while waiting for the patties. Then was about to finish wrapping my burger, right before I asked him to please change his gloves. Disgusting.
Management, retrain your staff. There should be strict protocols in place to safely handle cooked food.
Old post: Recently order the Tiktok crazed grilled cheese sandwich with a beef patty and let me tell you, forget what you know about grilled cheese..lol Honestly, as I watched them make this with an inverted bun, I didn't think it was anything special. "It's a regular cheeseburger!"..so I thought. But listen here, the crisp toasted and buttery exterior was everything! So delicious!!
