Read moreHorrible experience and abysmal customer service. Went for my wife's birthday, heard how good the steaks were and decided to try it since we signed up for the free dinner for your birthday promotion which sounded like a great way to end the day. Started with the unfriendly hostesses, followed by getting our beer poured all over our table, bottles crashing on the table, splashing onto my brother in law's shirt and pants. He hates calling attention to himself so he said nothing but was obviously upset, having to sit the rest of the evening in wet pants. Would have spilled on me and my wife too but I quickly cupped my hands and caught it. Waitress was not bumped into, just clumsy. Ok, accidents happen but the customer should be compensated. Manager Stephanie, I believe her name was, came over and told us not to worry, they would "take care of us". Fair enough. So we get to the ordering the entree stage and I dared ask what they were going to do for us. I was met with a sharp "EXCUSE ME??" by the waitress. At the very least, his meal should be comped I said. Manager tells us "Well we have to see the bill at the end first". Are you kidding me?? Ridiculous answer from a so called high end steakhouse. Afraid we're going to order something too high in price?? And so what if we did? Good business practice is to make the client happy when you mess up, not stress them out further. Then the waitress proceeds with an attitude towards us the rest of the meal, barking at us "what are you having?" ...and "YOU?" "Pass me that plate". We get beer spilled on us and she's angry with us!..this woman's service and attitude were atrocious. End of the meal, we get the bill, we're offered free desserts and to "send them the dry cleaning bill" but no comp on his meal. WTH? She also mentioned how they replaced our beers like it was a favor to us, what a joke! Unacceptable and a lack of class, my exact words to her. She kept rudely interrupting me with "Sir!", Sir!, Sir!". More incompetence... You think we're going to send you a bill and then wait for you to reimburse us who knows when? It's about the experience you idiot... the man had to sit the whole evening splashed with beer. She leaves us her general manager's card, who she probably already contacted, tells us to call her and flippantly turns her back on us with a sarcastic "Happy thanksgiving". You think we don't know you're all in cahoots, backing each other up? Like I would waste my time with that, lol. Only after I told her that I would be writing a review did she then remove the charge from by brother in law's meal on the check, but never came back to the table to apologize or talk to us. Just blatantly trying to cover for her poor treatment of us, so she could say " I DID comp their meal and they were still not satisfied"... Again, a total lack of class and character, terrible management, whatever your name was. You should be managing Mickey D's maybe. For the record the steaks were good but not better than Council Oak or Morton's, both of which we've had very pleasant dining experiences at. Good riddance to this place, thanks for a terrible dining experience.Very disappointing. My advice-unless you like a pretentious and rude staff and overpriced steak,...
Read moreOkeechobee steakhouse: 2 stars (2/5 stars) Reservation for 1 on June 28(Friday) 2024. Food - 1/5 Service - 3/5 Armosphere - 4/5
Food: 1 out of 5 I came in specifically for the steak. I asked my server if they had a wagyu which is on the google menu. He said no. Ordered a prime cut Bone-In Ribeye steak - medium rare which cost me $100+. It was very under seasoned, it was dry. The cook was very uneven, I would say it was medium well to well done in some parts. I was very disappointed because the previous week I dined in at longhorn and I paid for $50 ribeye that was very well seasoned and was cooked as I ordered which is medium rare every time. I was expecting something better in Okeechobee steakhouse. Back to okeechobee steakhouse, I tried it with the little bit of side sauce they had which you can see on the picture attached in my review, it didn’t make it any better. The calamari was good but it couldnt make up to how the steak did so 1/5 star for the food.
Note: When I dined in, a couple in a table near me complained and talked to the manager for minutes, on I believe the same problem. The steak was underseasoned and it was not served in the temperature/doneness they order. (The manager said about “apologizing to them for the off night”)
Service: 3 out of 5 Nothing really to say here. 3 out of 5 for the service.
Atmosphere: 4 out of 5 The atmosphere was good, a little bit loud but nothing you can do about that. The area was a bit cramped up than I expected.
Tldr: Concern: Steak (Bone-In ribeye steak) -Ordered medium rare. They overcooked it, dry and underseasoned very bland at some parts.
Additional: manager apologized to the couple at the table near me for the off night(?) to be quite frank I don’t think I’m going to risk another almost 200 dollar bill food for one person for an off night. While the manager was talking to the couple too, the servers were looking at them. I don’t know, I feel like when someone complains don’t look at them let the person handling it do her job and go back to doing yours instead of looking at them or trying to listen or figure out whats happening, go do your job and look around to see if someone needs help or service. It would be very uncomfortable to complain having the other servers are looking at you. Makes other people less likely to say something and in return you’ll have no room for improvement or growth. (A bit harsh review and details but I would say all that could have been avoided if the steaks, mine and the old couple near me was even average. It was very well below that.)
I tipped well for those who are wondering(33%), my bill was $165 not including the 33% tip. so this is just an honest review. Even with the kind of food I was served I am still thankful just because I appreciate people who handle my food.
Would I go back? No, even if they invited me for a free dinner or a discounted dinner. Just because I gave a very honest review.
I’ll probably go back next year(MAYBE), see if the food...
