Food was not old, at least.

Very high level of sweetness to all sauces, some intolerably so. Breaded meats were soggy, but non-breaded beef dishes were delicious. Fried sides (egg rolls, dumplings) were overly greasy, but at least not soggy. Soup good, did not sample rices.

The other person with me did not want buffet, and this caused a problem.

Hostess assumed and didn't ask. Server was halfway across the floor after dropping off beverages (sweet tea was given to diabetic who ordered unsweet and vice versa) before he was able to get through to her that he would like a menu, at which point she scowled and rolled her eyes and generally was grouchy the rest of the time. We were offered refills of our "sodas" so at that point we simply said no thank you rather than risk being charged for more drinks when she realized SHE had gotten them wrong.

Our non-buffet order was ordered "to go" and we were watched like hawks to make sure we didn't slip any buffet food into the to-go container - and note that no return trip to the buffet was made, inly the initial one with one plate of food and a soup bowl, so no excessive food was taken let alone eaten. When he got the food home and ate it once it was cold enough (he cannot eat warm food) he ended up having to put everything into a pan, cook the vegetables since they were almost raw, and having to add pretty much every Asian sauce we had in our pantry to make enough sauce to cover the noodles and to have any sort of flavor other than oil. Had we wanted to cook stir fry noodles ourselves, we wouldn't have ordered from a restaurant. But he ended up having to wait for it to cool down again once he finished cooking the veggies, so our late lunch turned into a late dinner for him instead, and an unsatisfying one not worth the price at that.

Will not return. Do not recommend due to few tasty items and very...

I love this place I stopped here on the way back from visiting relatives out of state this is in West plains Missouri it is take out only but it's well worth it it's not Americanized they make everything just right yum I drive all the way from Mountain Grove Missouri sometimes to get this if the weather is permitting. I pray they never close their doors and they don't change Cooks cuz if they do they just lost my business. If you want it more Americanized where it's bland or whatever go to the other place but I think this place is better that's my personal opinion I wish we had one in Mountain Grove Missouri because what we have in Mountain Grove Missouri is the same old boring stuff they only make two things beef and chicken end of story no sea food or wong tong soupand they make their egg drop soup the right way not thick like stew. So this is my personal...

I eat here very very very often. Today I decided to bring an individual with special needs here to eat lunch. It took quit sometime to be seated then when asked what drinks I said sweet tea with lemon for myself and an empty cup for the individual. They gave me a cup of water. Understandable that’s an honest mistake due to it being an odd request. Well upon asking a second time I was given attitude and overheard the hostess and waitress saying “empty cup empty cup” over and over and laughing along with other words in their language of origin. I’m not sure if I took it wrong but judging by how they acted I felt they were making fun of I and the individual. They have lost my business and I’m very disappointed in the staff as a whole. Also the food was decently good if you like being critiqued the entire visit. Would...

My visit to Chen's garden was a bit disappointing. The restaurant was very clean and the staff very friendly. The bubbling noises along with the background music over the speakers is a little annoying after a while. My biggest problem was with the food on the buffet. The general chicken lacked much in the way of flavor and the chicken pieces seem to have tough skin on them. All of the fried item such as the spring rolls and crab rangoon tasted of old oil. It was not very pleasant. The ribs were tough. And my biggest disappointment was the lack of flavor and seasoning in the foods. If you're wanting relatively bland Chinese food then this is your place. They did a nice job of keeping the buffet stocked.

Firstly, *Do Not* trust the menu on Google. That is an old menu and the process and offerings may be inaccurate. I have uploaded pictures of their menu both to Google and to this review. I am staying in the Baymont nearby for the night, and I called for takeout (after clearing up the menu misunderstanding). I got Szechuan Beef with two (artificial) crab Rangoons (the artificial is important because regular crab isn't kosher), and plain fried rice. The fried rice was pretty bland but other than that the rest of the meal was lovely, and the food was ready within minutes of me walking through the door. As it is a 4 minute walk from the hotel and the food is high quality I strongly recommend. 8.5/10

Food is average. Service is ok. Biggest reason I am rating 1 star is due to their abuse of fish. Both tanks they have are way over stocked. ONE arowana needs a minimum of 250 gallons, they have 3 of them in what appears to be a 55 gallon tank. The other tank had fish that need to be in groups of 6 or more of their own species, a common pleco that needs a minimum of 250 gallon tank. There are fish that are either injured or diseased. They need to research proper fish keeping or hire someone who already has knowledge of aquariums to handle them. The only positive thing on the tanks is that they are clean.
