One Star - Disappointing First and Last Visit
My first experience at Cornerstone Cafe in West Sacramento was unfortunately a complete letdown. From the moment we sat down, the issues began to pile up. First, the mimosas were served in cheap, scratched plastic glasses with noticeable water spots. It felt incredibly tacky and certainly didn't start the meal on a positive note. The service was also a major problem. Our food was brought out by a busboy with a clearly snarky attitude. When I politely asked for ketchup, he slammed it down on the table and muttered a sarcastic "you're welcome" as he walked away. Completely unprofessional and uncalled for. Then there was the food itself. I ordered scrambled eggs but received over-easy eggs. A simple mistake, but still frustrating. The toast, which arrived last, had a strange, unpleasant taste that turned out to be margarine. A cheap and disappointing substitute for butter. My corned beef and hash was the biggest disappointment. It tasted strongly of ordinary, generic canned corned beef. My partner's chorizo breakfast was heavily seasoned with a taco seasoning, giving it an overwhelming and cheaply made taste. Overall, the cheap presentation, rude service, and poorly executed food made for a truly unpleasant experience. I won't be returning to Cornerstone Cafe, and I suggest others consider their options before dining here. There are far better breakfast spots in...
Read moreThis place is awesome! Went here with my girlfriend for brunch, not sure what to expect. Everything about this place is great! I was a bit wary of leaving a review as I don't want to share it! It's got a honey little hole in the wall cafe kind of feel. The staff is very friendly and attentive without being annoying. The coffee was really good, noticeably better than most cafe and restaurants. The portions were pretty large and the prices are some of the lowest around! The mimosas were tasty, we got a pitcher as we were expecting it to be pretty weak, but they were quite strong and tasted pretty good! My gf had the eggs Benedict and it was good, the hollandaise sauce was very tasty and an actual thick piece of cooked ham! I had biscuits and gravy, the gravy was better than most places, and the biscuits were split and toasted and then put back before putting the gravy of top, something I've never come across in a restaurant but I'm happy they did it! This place is definitely going to be a new staple for me, just a quiet, unassuming place with GREAT food, GREAT service, and...
Read moreTook my Grandson here for breakfast last Sunday. Not too crowded at all. Our waitress was great and very attentive, but it goes down hill from there. Food was delivered cold, and incorrect. When my omlette made it back a second time, it was still cold. My grandson is a big eater, but barely touched his breakfast as it was not tasty enough to eat. Total waste of money. The food here doesn't have enough flavor to be served cold. They were not busy at 10 am Sunday, so again, no reason to be cold. The Cornerstone downtown is good, but I will not be returning to our local Cornerstone. Back to the usual...
