About 4 days ago I stopped at this Home Depot and as I was walking toward the front doors, I noticed the large American Flag on the pole on the roof and it was at half staff. I'm currently without a TV during remodel work and wasn't aware of anything that had happened that the flags would be at half staff. I stopped at the Customer Service desk and 3 employees were back their and I asked about the Flag. No one knew why it would be at half staff and also thought it was odd. Today as I'm near the same Home Depot I see that not only is the flag still at half staff, it is now only attached at the top grommet. Home Depot's American Flag is whipping around by the top grommet at half staff! Obviously the Manager would want to know this so he can fix this disrespect of our flag. Again, I go to the Customer Service desk and ask to speak with the manager. The nice girl at the desk ask's if it's something she can help with and I tell her the story about asking 4 days ago and now how it is. She calls back to the Manager (who apparently was too busy to come up front) and she relied my concerns and his reply was he is "very well informed about it", but nothing about he is working on fixing this right away. The thing about it is this, we haven't had an incident where the flags were lowered to half staff for over 4 months that I'm aware of. At some point, someone was told to go put the flag at half staff and then no one has ever changed it. Now this poor flag is hanging by 1 hook and the Manager for the store is just far too busy to fix it, even when he is well aware of the situation. Time for a...
Read moreEarly Friday morning around 8:30 a.m. I needed a few more things to finish a bathroom remodel. Employee was loading something on bottom shelves of an aisle. She noticed a supplier walking through the store, stood up and started talking with this supplier. I needed to know where I could find pressure sensitive adhesive spray in the store. I stood there patiently waiting for the employee to finish her conversation with the supplier. The conversation was personal and continued for several minutes. The supplier finally told the employee "I think this lady needs your help". I replied, I think (she) the employee already knows this. I do not know why the store floor help does not run to customers trying to help answer questions, most questions are just about navigating the store but it never fails...they never offer their assistance and would rather head the opposite direction of anyone looking like they need help. Perhaps the HD owners should pay their people more so they may want to actually help or perhaps they should keep track of how many sales they do assist and reward people for helping or perhaps they need to find people that want to work and are willing to help the customers. When you're in the middle of a project nobody wants to waste an hour or more wandering their store. Or eliminate humans altogether put a computer in there that has everything in the store and punch in what you're looking for and have the computer tell me...
Read moreHad a very poor customer service experience at west sac home depot this morning, 6/7. Was there to get a very specific item and there were several options and simply wanted to discuss the options with a knowledgable rep. From one guy who blew me off with âIâm not on the clockâ and kept walking, to a clerk near the check out that said let me see if I can find someone and never found anyone or followed up with me after 20 min and could clearly see I was standing there, to the customer service desk where 5 employees were standing around talking and laughing and one of them pointed out a guy that could help me and I walked over to him and he looked up at me and seemed mad when I simply said âhi, can you please help me.â He said he was busy right now, but would get back me. He then walked by me several times and never acknowledged me or helped me after 20 min.
I finally left and drove to Loews where the reps there went out of their way to quickly and easily help me out.
I am always quick to call out good service and the reps at that Home Depot garden center in particular are great. I rarely write a bad review for a customer experience, but those folks inside at a Home Depot could have cared less about this customer and that I needed help. Going forward will be spending most if not of all of my home improvement...
