Might be the perfect classic donut.. The quality of these donuts are exceptional - the texture is perfectly soft and chewy and the taste is very clean, not too sweet, and no artificial after taste. We got the maple syrup, original, cinnamon crunch, coconut chocolate, banana, and blueberry. All 6 flavors were all so good but my favorite would be the cinnamon, original and blueberry. The staff is also super friendly. We got there around noon so there weren’t many options left but the lady helping us offered to make more of the flavors we wanted in the back! We didn’t take up her offer but it’s definitely nice to have that option. Sad we don’t live around here but next time we come back to SLC, definitely coming back here!

Food Quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: N/A - went through the Drive Thru Value: 5/5 Darla’s Donuts has a great variety of donuts and all were delicious! This small shop in Salt Lake is only open for drive thru, so be prepare for lines if you go during more popular breakfast hours. When you get to the window, the staff asks if you want to see their menu and if you say yes, they will bring out the entire tray of their donuts to you to pick from 😂. We got the churro, blueberry crumble, Bismarck, apple fritter, maple bacon, and one with orange frosting(?) All were delicious and would definitely go back!

This is a REAL donut shop! It seems like good donuts are a dying art. Groceries store donuts seem perpetually stale. Like they're shipped in and sold as "fresh". The new donut shops seem to think a $2 cake donut is awesome because they offer 'Mimosa and Kumquat-flavored icing" that they apply while you watch. Darla's is a GREAT donut shop. Simply fresh, crisp-on-the-outside-fluffy-on-the-inside donuts. Very few places remain that still make great donuts. Without question, the best fritters! Prices are fair and the service is efficient. Get there early while the selection is great.

Ok. I would consider myself a donut expert in a sense. I have my favorites and know who has the best of what in the valley. This was my first time and I am hooked. I can tell you why... they don’t load down the dough with sugar so bad that you feel sick after you eat just one. The sweet should come from the topping or glaze, not from the dough. They figured out the perfect mixture. I HIGHLY recommend this shop for great donuts! Amazing texture and fluffy melt in your mouth goodness!

This place has amazing customer service and very lively for 5 am when they open. Their apple fritter really is the best I have had. I have been searching for a solid apple fritter for a while. Darla's did not disappoint. The rest of their donuts are really good as well. Like you are eating a donut not a cotton candy donut that will leave you unsatisfied. Give them a try, you won't regret it.
