This place is mediocre at best. The prices are cheap, but so is the food.
I had the Chicken Katsu and Beef Short Ribs. Both of these dishes were mildly satisfying.
The Katsu seemed like it was fried, frozen then fried again. There were also bones in the chicken, rice was dry and whatever soy sauce they have is also the most tasteless soy sauce I have ever experienced, I mean... its soy sauce!
The beef short ribs were rubbery and barely seared. The Teri sauce was boring and was obviously from a can or bottle. No home recipe here, folks. On top of that, they chose to cut the short ribs at/on the bone... which gave me a mouth full of tiny bone shards and gave me a mild tooth ache.
Both of these dishes are what I normally order from an Asian/Hawaiian cuisine. There are at least three places that I have been to that make these two dishes far better and for a small increase in price.
Save yourself from wasting your money here. Goto Moki's, Lanikai or even MoBettah if you want Beef Short Ribs, Teriyaki Steak or Chicken Katsu.
Oh, the pot stickers were good... but obviously from a...
Read moreI recently had the chance to try the new Thai menu at Sweet Teriyaki, and it absolutely blew me away! The Drunken Noodles were packed with flavor, featuring perfectly stir-fried wide rice noodles with just the right balance of spice, savory notes, and a hint of sweetness. The vegetables and protein were fresh, and it had just the right amount of kick without being overwhelming.
But the real star for me was the Thai Basil Spicy Fried Rice. The basil was incredibly fragrant and paired beautifully with the spice level, which had just enough heat to make every bite exciting. The rice was fluffy, and the fried egg on top was the perfect finishing touch.
Both dishes had amazing depth of flavor, and the freshness of the ingredients really stood out. Sweet Teriyaki has truly nailed these Thai-inspired dishes, and I can't wait to go back and try more from the menu. Highly recommend these two dishes for anyone looking for an authentic, bold, and...
Read moreI was happy with the food at first because I work near here so I thought it would be a great place to go. Well I didn’t realize it the first time but the second and third time I go, I feel awful. Like food poisoning awful. I remembered that they were the only thing I ate those days as well. So I’m not sure if it’s just not being cooked thoroughly, sanitation is an issue, or the food is old. The restaurant looks clean so I will give a star for that. But I just can’t bring myself to go in there again. I will drive down the street to...
