Sometimes first impressions are correct. When I first walked in the door, the first thing I thought was that this place was a little run down. Decor is decades old, it was cramped and a little dirty but since some of the best places are and the restaurant was full, we ignored the first impressions and ate anyway. We were asked as soon as we arrived if it was carry out or dine in and we decided to eat there. The girl cleared a table for us, sat us and gave us menus and then we were ignored. No waters, chips and salsa or even a hello. After 15 minutes we were beginning to wonder if we had to go order at the counter but two other groups walked in, sat themselves and were immediately brought chips and salsa. I kind of felt unwelcome at this point, like they didn't want to serve us. We ignored that feeling and ordered at the counter. While waiting on food, we would love to have washed our hands... But there were no restrooms! Finally a server brought us chips and salsa and our drinks but even after the long wait, I was disappointed. Salsa tasted like cold tomato soup, and the chips were flavorless. Good authentic salsa should be a staple. We also spent $5 on their guacamole but barely touched it. It was flavorless and mushy like eating baby food. My horchata was gritty and was served in a cup that was so dinged and chipped I would have thrown it away at home and bought new cups. I did give two stars because when we finally got our main dishes (a chimichanga and some carne asada tacos) the food tasted great! However with so many delicious and authentic Mexican restaurants in Utah, we won't be back to this one. We will drive a little further down the street and eat at Tacos Mi Carmello instead. Better food made consistently well and right in front of you in a spotless kitchen, better service, and friendlier more welcoming staff. All around a...
Read moreSo I was at this place authentic Mexican restaurant I ordered a shrimp burrito. The prices on the Menu Board was wrong. I end up paying $18 for a burrito.
I ordered the breaded shrimp plate. The price was wrong again in the paint $21 for display. I got eight shrimps like a little scoop of rice in a little tiny thing of a salad for that prize the portion of wrong. They’re overcharging for their plates and you’re not getting what you’re paying for
I order six Carne Asada tacos no complaint on that they were good
I went back in order a kids meal for my granddaughter on the Menu Board is at six dollars for a cheese quesadilla I end up paying $11 for a quesadilla and it was a little tiny tortilla Harley any cheese
I ordered a Milanesa chicken torta the price on the menu was 1299. I ended up paying $18 for a torta and some fries.
What I’m trying to get is that over charging the prices on the Menu Board are not correct. You get to the window you’re paying for six dollars more and a fortune on the food for that price. It’s horrible. You get nothing for $21. I hope the owner sees this message at the end. I spent $90 for five things. I was gonna go back in and say you know why just give me my money back here your food, bud man overcharging you hardly get any food for the price very disappointed I will not. I will not go...
Read moreI have been going here for 5 years. It used to be sort of okay, not great, not bad. It was fine at times for what it was. It isn't even that anymore. They have always been rather slow and have become ridiculously slow. You will sit in the drive thru for over 30-45 minutes when you're the only car. Don't even bother if there is another car at the window or already in front of you. Don't mistake the length of time to equate to fresh made quality food, because it isn't. Their prices have increased over 30% so they are higher priced than a "nice" sit down and be served Mexican restaurant and it takes longer to simply get your food than it takes to go in a real restaurant, sit down, be served, eat and leave. The worst part is the staff has become extremely rude and you will likely not get the correct order and they will argue with you when you let them know it was incorrect. For what is truly mediocre food at best, it simply isn't worth your time and money and it is really a life sucking experience. For those who GrubHub. Why risk it? You won't get what you ordered and it will be...
