I don't think I have ever been so disappointed in a restaurant for quite some time. Bob Evans has always been one of my family's favorite places. This was our second visit to this location in 3 months. The food was a disgrace. My mom and I got breakfast and my son got a bacon cheeseburger plate. To start off, the biscuits were hard, like they had been microwaved, so hard I banged them on the table and they didn't even crumble, I requested cheese and fried onions on my scrambled eggs, the cheese was solidified and the eggs were overcooked to the point of rubber, same for my moms, the sausage patties were entirely void of any flavor. The only edible thing on our plates were the hashbrowns. My sons burger had a strong pork flavor and it was not from the bacon, maybe they fried the burger in the bacon grease, who knows, at least the fries were hot. As I said in the beginning, this was our second visit in about 3 months. The last visit the food was lousy, but I thought maybe it was just one of those rare occurrences, but boy was I wrong! Sadly, this will be my last visit, I will take my money where I can get much better food for...
Read moreMy husband and I had not eaten at a Bob Evans before. We chose Bob Evans as it was almost 1100 am. Some restaurants had lines waiting, while others were not opened yet. We were pleasantly surprised with the food. It was cooked well. The waitress was pleasant and the service was fast. I chose a breakfast dish that had scrambled eggs mixed with Hollandaise sauce, cheese, bacon, ham, and tomatoes. It was tasty and fresh. No artificial flavors noted. My husband got a traditional Western Omlette with biscuits and sausage gravy. The biscuits and gravy were exceptionally well cooked. He bragged on the Omlette as well. We had coffee, water, and juice. All portions were generous. The tables and facilities were clean, always an important point with me. I took away one star because our waitress had to be reminded of the sausage gravy, salt, and jelly. And we had to ask another waitress to find her for us. I would not let it keep me from going back. Her tables were in multiple sections and the restaurant was busy. Overall I was pleased with meal...
Read moreFood/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - ordered the Dinner for 2 with two soups, two entrees, and a shared dessert. We ordered a cup of Cheddar Baked Potato Soup, cup of Chicken-N-Noodle Soup, a Mushroom & Onion Chopped Steak, a Country-Fried Steak, and a Holy Cow Chocolate Cake. Sad part was they didn't pack our soup :( Both of the entrees were great even though both also leaned on the saltier end. The steaks were moist and well cooked. The sides of mashed potatoes were great and extremely creamy with extra country gravy on top. The mac and cheese was mediocre and the corn was very oily. The cake was good but the chocolate drizzle and whipped cream was a bit too sweet for our liking. Definitely need some milk to go with that chocolaty goodness!
Service: n/a - ordered online for food to go so not much interaction with any workers
Ambiance: n/a - ordered food to go
Value for price: 5/5 - at $23 for the meal, it was definitely worth it for the amount of food we got even if we were missing the soup! Would definitely do again even though are limited items we can...
