05/11/24 - Arrived at restaurant approx 6:20. Greeting by waitress was very good. She got our drink order and then we put in our food order. After 15 to 20 minutes and delivering food to a table across the aisle and after taking an order across the aisle, she noted that it would take another 13 minutes to get the fried chicken dinner that I had ordered and wanted to know if I wanted something else. I asked for a menu and then ordered eggs and french toast.. About another 20 minutes go by and I ask the waitress to at least bring the food out for my 92 yr old dad and she noted it had not been started. At that point, I told the waitress to have the food out in 5 minutes or I would like to talk to the manager. The waitress at that point gave me one of those looks that was telling me to pack sand and proceeded to talk to folks at the table next to mine. About 6 minutes latter, a manager shows up and told me that I made the waitress cry - I think she was rather taken back when i said I do not care (especially since I was only asking for service and to get my food order out).
Nevertheless she sent out another waitress who tried to play nice and someone brought out the food order - an incorrect food order - my dad had ordered dumplings and green beans / cole slaw and both of us wanted biscuits. The dumplings came out with the wrong veggies and muffins vs. biscuits. My order that started out as fried chicken and I changed to eggs showed up as roast beef. The waitress then asks me what I ordered and I asked what was written down and she said roast beef. A second manager shows up and bluntly tells me to stop abusing his staff (not sure how it is abuse when I point out the multitude of errors). The 2nd manager told me that I could just leave if I was not happy. I told him or the 2nd waitress to just cancel my food. We are now 45+ minutes after being seated. Finally my dad's cole slaw came out and the 2nd waitress essentially played nice to my dad and turned her back on me - a 3rd waitress or manager came out and tried to in her words make me happy. I went through the saga that I have written above. She was nice.
You literally can not make this up.
PS - when I got my ticket to pay, it had a drink and fried chicken on the ticket. Can those folks do anything right at this place.
Recommend not visiting this Cracker Barrel (or is it that customer service employees now come from the bottom of the barrel). Left the restaurant at approx 7:30.
And thank goodness there is a good Dairy Queen down...
Read morePlaced an order at 7 pm.. arrived at 7:25 pm. Proceeded to wait an additional 25 minutes to get take out order. Wouldntve been a big deal but they said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Oh well. Grabbed food and went home. Got home not even 10 minutes from the store and food is cold. Not lukewarm to where it could've been sitting under a heat lamp but cold. To make matters worse, I've got twin 2 year olds that don't like bacon. Asked for sausage but you guessed it, got bacon. French toast had zero seasoning. Like literally an egg batter toast. I got the country boy something or other breakfast. Asked for grits to be replaced with an extra gravy and to add biscuits. No biscuits. By this time, I wasn't even hungry anymore so didn't eat anything last night. So took it to work this morning for breakfast and nuked it for 2.5 minutes. The dang steak I ordered with it was medium rare AFTER 2 MINUTES OF NUKING. I had ordered medium because they didn't offer medium rare but imagine if I ate that fresh lol. It would've been mooing. My wife and I worked in food service for many years during our college years and at this specific Cracker Barrel so to say we were surprised at the quality is an...
Read moreI placed a pick up order. The order came with either biscuits or corn muffins. Neither of which i like, so like ALWAYS I wanted to substitute Toasted sour dough bread. The girl taking my order said that is not a choice. I said I know its a substitution and I'm happy to pay extra for it. She replied we can do no substitutes. I said then I don't want anything. I told her I've been substituting sourdough toast for breakfast or dinner for years. My whole family does. So the lady transfers me to the kitchen. I tell this young lady my problem and she says yes I can have TOASTED sourdough. So I place my order. I get to the store and they take about 5-7 minutes to find my order because it's under the wrong name. So it is read back to me when cashier finds it and it is correct. However when I get home more issues, I live 2 minutes from restaurant, my hashbrown casserole is cold as can be and guess what I got grilled sourdough. So it was nothing but a greasy mess. Couldn't even taste the sourdough. That's is exactly why I order toasted. This is probably the worst experience I've had a cracker barrel but it seems like each time it just gets worse. It will be a long long time before I go back...
