Giovanni's Pizza — Restaurant in West Virginia

Yesterday I wanted to try a local eatery that I hadn't before. I loved the atmosphere of Giovanni's Pizza but some important things went wrong. I had walked into Giovanni's 20 minutes after placing my order online and met a nice woman behind the counter who was having a conversation with two other male employees. I had picked up my pizza and two liter soda and left.

After getting home I had laid my eyes upon the amalgamation of cheese, toppings, and sauce. The pizza itself was not cut deep enough so I had to use my personal pizza cutter at home, gotten for situations such as this. We found it hadn't been cut properly due to trying to lift a slice of pizza and the majority of the cheese had slipped off completely! I found it was almost as if the pizza had two layers separated from each other. Even after cutting the pizza it had breading and sauce separated by a layer of pepperoni and then cheese which was separated from the latter. The dough was very noticeably undercooked, which caused the pizza to be floppy, and underwhelming. As you strategically had to hold the slice, you would notice the layers not connected and had to make sure you made a very solid bite before pulling away as not to move the entire cheese away from the slice.

While the ingredients were good, the execution was saddening. I hope to see Giovanni's be better in the future, as I really enjoy the environment inside of there. But I will not be returning for another...

Barboursville, WV. Just got off the phone with the manager that said her name was Samantha. When my fiancé first called they were rude when they wouldn’t give an estimated time of delivery which is weird because if the wait was like 2 hours I would have considered a different place to order from. My fiancé decided to go ahead and order and we would just wait. It took about an hour which was reasonable but when we received our food, there were two orders of meatballs that were missing and the calzone that I had ordered looked like the wedges that is on their menu on their website which I would have not ordered. When I called and explained that I don’t usually complain, the manager was rude and offered a 25% discount on our next visit which in my opinion was unacceptable. I told her that was unacceptable that I didn’t order what I received and then she said that she would refund the money back and hung up on me. Came here on a Tuesday night around 7pm. The establishment was fairly empty and I was quickly seated and waited on. I ordered an extra large pizza with sausage and mushrooms and a sweet tea. The tea itself was nothing special and tasted more like sugar water. The pizza came out in about 15 minutes and looked good. The crust was crisp but not too crunchy and the Italian sausage tasted good but the mushrooms were scarce and lacked any complimentary flavor. The cheese was plentiful but not over abundant, which is how I like it. The pizza is good quality for the price and I was pleased. My only complaints are that the tea was subpar and I wish they offered pork sausage as well as thicker cut portabella mushrooms. Still the best pizza joint in...
