Well what can I say. First of all I realize this is a new restaurant. Only been open since 1-22-2019. (I was really excited to have a Longhorn Steak House in our area). My wife and I have eaten at quite a few Longhorns before. In different states and in State as well, and had a wonderful experience. The waitress we had was very nice, and tried to be accommodating. We ordered our drinks. Myself a beer and my wife a diet coke. The coke arrived promptly which is the norm in most Restaurants, but my beer was served by a expeditor and or bar tender with a thud and Miller light statement. Then just disappeared. We ordered the cheese stuffed mushrooms for a appetizer and was very satisfied with it. The only problem we had was the mushrooms arrived and we still hadn't recieved any appetizer plates yet. We asked the waitress for plates, and she said she would get us some plates. After our mushrooms were cold and we decided to eat them from the platter in which they were served did our plates arrive. Our order was taken and we waited for the arrival of our entrees. My wife ordered the Salmon with Broccoli and a side salad with thousand Island dressing. No tomatoes. I ordered the Flo fillet (10oz), Broccoli, and a side salad with the house dressing. No tomatoes. Our salads arrived from a expeditor with both having tomatoes and thousand island dressing. I told them that I did not want thousand island dressing. The expeditor told us that both dressing were orange and that my salad had the right dressing. My wife tasted the dressing on my salad and it was indeed thousand island dressing. The expeditor then apologized and retrieved me a new salad with the proper dressing (still with tomatoes). Our entrees arrived, and were very appealing visually. My wife's meal was fine. My steak was cooked perfectly to a medium rare, but my brocolli was still raw. So be it. I ate my steak and a few pieces of brocolli. My wife then ordered a chocolate stampede cake with no ice cream. To go. She received a beautiful cake on a platter with ice cream, so we asked for a to go box. After boxing her desert (minus the icecream) we paid our bill then left. Overall the food was good, but it can not be compared to all the other Longhorns that I have visited. Just keep in mind that I visited the Barboursville WV location 14 days after being opened. Hopefully the wait staff will improve, and become as efficient as all the other Longhorns I've been to. I would like to state that I don't like posting negative reviews, but when I spend close to $100 dollars for a meal, I expect to be satisfied. I hope to be able to post a more favorable review...
Read moreGood food, great staff and convenient location.
Kinda ridiculous the long wait to get a seat (called to reserve a place for 1 and the wait was still 1hr and a half), but they did keep my reservation and seated me when they said they would, so that was a plus.
I tried the firecracker quesadilla app. Then later tried the flo's filet with a loaded baked potato and some spicy rice.
The quesadilla app was fine, the salad and the avocado-lime made it a win though. The flo's filet was cooked correctly, however, it wasn't as lean as I had hoped. The loaded baked potato was typical but huge, I couldn't eat all of it. And the spicy rice wasn't too little or too much spice, Goldilocks. I also tried the raspberry lemonade which was typical and almost candy or kool-aid sweet, but refreshing still.
All staff, including the hostesses (phone staff included), wait and cooking/delivery were all extremely thoughtful and courteous. All staff seemed happy to help in any way. For how busy they were, I was impressed with their patience and positivity.
I left with more than half of my bread, potato, rice and quesadilla app. Just my opinion, but I found that the spicy rice went extremely well with the quesadilla app, so I'd suggest combining that into an entree in the future.
I had a gift card that was old, but shockingly still had value and covered the cost of my meal. And that was the biggest win honestly, because never having eaten at longhorns, I didn't know how over priced they were. Though the food was fine, that's all it was really. My total with a $7.33 (20%) tip came to $44.00, a little high imo. But if that's what is required to keep pleasant staff around, I guess I can understand (feel free to comment whether the high prices influence the staff pay please).
All in all, not bad, but the wait time is a little trying. Plus money vs. meal you'll receive, O'charlies, Applebee's or Logan's Roadhouse blows it away if...
Read moreCame in on a Thursday night about 6:30. There were five people at the host stand. It took several minutes of discussion between them to determine that we should be seated at a high top by the bar. The dining room was only half full. The bartender was our server. She was friendly with the bar customers, but seemed inconvenienced by having to deal with a table. Service was acceptable. We ordered an appetizer (tonions) and we both ordered the 6oz. sirloin. Mine was ordered medium, my wife ordered medium well. Our appetizer arrived in reasonable time, as did our salads. Our dinners took a bit long. My steak was about an inch think and medium rare. My wife's steak was about 1/2 inch thick, black, crunchy, completely dried out, and tasted like charcoal. Our server never came back to check if our steaks were acceptable. My wife ate here potato and shoved her plate to the edge of the table with the cut, but uneaten burnt steak. The bartender came out from behind the bar, snatched that plate only and quickly ducked into the kitchen. She returned after a few minutes and dropped our check on the table as she swiftly and silently breezed past our table. We paid our check, and left. Not once, during our entire visit, did anyone say 'how was everything ' or 'how is your dinner' A steakhouse that can't cook steaks properly is a sad thing. Servers who are embarrassed by the garbage they are forced to serve, lose all pride in their job and resort to creative ways of increasing their tips. This location is not a good representation of this brand. Something happened here that has allowed a slow, steady decline that will continue until the store...
