Huskey's Dairy Bar — Restaurant in West Virginia

Stopped at Huskey's Dairy Bar in Cross Lanes, WV while I was out trying to relax. I ordered 2 Hot Dogs with Chili, Slaw & Onions (my go to's on a great Hot Dog)

I also ordered a large Root Beer. The girl behind the window counter was a little awkward but got tge job done. The Root Beer, fountain style was flat or diet but definitely not a good tasting Root Beer, so my meal was shot from first drink.

The Hot Dogs were okay, steamed buns a plus, weiner was okay, chili aka sauce was okay, slaw sweet needed to be a bit drier too wet, and onions overly strong. But the big No No was it was wrapped in aluminum foil wrappers instead of wax paper or parchment paper,so the steamed buns stuck to the aluminum foil creating a even more messier dog!!! I hate that!!! I almost took them back, but I decided to just rate them on flavor and service. I liked the fact I could order outside. I liked the outside dining tables covered with umbrellas but needed a little cleanier, refined area. I felt like I was actually in parking lot and the tracker trailer rig for a wall made it worse. I would go back but i would tell them not to wrap in the foil, it really did...

We stopped at Huskey's on Thursday (10/27/22), just shy of them closing for the season on 10/29. Upon arrival, it wasn't super clear if we were able to order at the outdoor walk-up windows or if we had to go in, so we just walked inside. They have a decently-sized indoor dining area and also some outdoor seating. The staff was busy, but cordial and speedy.

I went in specifically to get their pumpkin soft serve; however, they also offer options hand scooped ice cream, milkshakes, dumplings, and ice cream pies. I got a large cup of a swirl with both pumpkin and black walnut soft serve. Both ice creams had great flavor, but I especially loved the black walnut soft serve. This place use to be really great, but the last few times we order, we never get what we ordered. One of the girls was really rude to my sister, she asked for and old fashioned soda. The girl made a milkshake and when my sister brought it back she just dumped it in another cup and added soda water making it more nasty than when it started. I ordered a hot fudge cake Sunday for my son, but ended up with a ice cream with hot fudge and Carmel on it. I asked if cake was in the cup she said yes, which it wasn't. We spend alot of money every year their but now after several different attempts we decided just to go somewhere else. It's sad because it use to be really good, it use to be one of out favorite ice...
