As soon as I walked in, I knew it was time to leave. Ide brought some friends to the beach they'd come down from vt to hartford for a concert. Creed was great, and the lawnseats also great. Then decided in the morning the beach would be better then tubing. Had a great day at the beach made a huge sand turtle. Turnt up and burnt up a little awesome day.
We had to find some food for dinner thought the shoreliner was open they were closing down for the day sadly. We told her we love lobster roll then asked her if she had any good recommendations. She looked at my lady and said ginos, but I saw something seemed off about it, so I asked her myself if that the next best place and she assured me it I was good.
The pack of us started walking back towards Ginos we passed a ice cream place a cool looking pizza bus right on over to Ginos. Very cool statue out front easly the most impressive part of this establishment . Opened the door for the group and the empty tables and smell quickly said it all to me and before I could stop them they had walked in. While looking at the menu I saw no lobster rolls. Not that I would have ordered them there anyway. My friends now hungry oder some food. I opt for just ice cream to share with the lady . We are the only ones in there beside a lone chick at the bar . We get the food and head out to the patio where almost every umbrella is out of order. My buddie Justin wanted a drink and since there's no servers has to now be his own server. Goes to the bar. Over fifteen minutes later I want a drink but Justin still isn't back yet. So I go to the bar and is drink was just finished being made. I order a marg for myself. 5 dollar marg ten minutes to make it because the flamboyant bartender is just chatting it up with the chick at the other side of the bar. I hand him a twenty and he takes over ten minutes to make change Justin's drink has now been drank. Tender hands me back three fives. Anyone who's ever bought a drink and gotten change know to give five singles for tipping. And to be honest I would have tipped five on the drink out of courtesy. I asked him how long he has been bartending he told me two years. Im gonna say he knew better. My friends pizzas were edible and and the salad was alright mushy fries nothing to right hom about.
Ginos seems very out of touch and far off. Not the experience I wanted for any of us especially my friends who drove four hours to have a nice time in a beach town. Gino if you read this next time refund the customer for the full burger especially if your employee had offered that. Reading about these reviews shows me things arnt working at this establishment. Great location just needs an owner who cares and management that can manage all aspects of this place. It deserves to be a tabled restraunt with servers and good food and happy customers . The way it is now, I don't see...
Read moreThere was no one to seat us for several minutes. When we were finally seated it took a very long time before we saw our waitress. It took even longer for simple drinks such as water to be delivered. The waitress handed my husband her personal list of beers instead of letting him know what beers were available. The beer he chose was not available. She didn’t understand what a margarita was, and neither did the bartender based on what I received. The food took forever to be brought out and it came randomly. I was brought a cup of lobster bisque even though I l ordered a bowl of NE Clam chowder. My daughters pizza came out long before any other meal did. When my other daughter’s food came out it was very hot but very bland. My food was surf and turf. My medium rare steak was cooked to well done. My lobster tail was grotesquely salty (and I love salt) and wildly overcooked. My vegetables were not cooked at all. All the while my husband had no food. After we were mostly finished eating the waitress FINALLY came over and told him his fish and chips had a problem and they were remaking it. By the time it finally came out the rest of us were desperately ready to go back to the room for bed and he had to rush. It wasn’t even busy. The food was not good. Judging by conversations I heard at other tables and the amount of food left on the table other people were feeling similarly. ...
Read moreRemember how your favorite dining experience featured vomiting in the restaurant bathroom? Well, if you're gluten free, then this might be what you're signing up for if you choose to eat at Gino's. There is a serious disconnect between wait staff and kitchen staff here, which is perilous for diners who have dietary restrictions. This is what happened: my mom and sister are GF and were brought normal bread, despite double checking multiple times. They were assured the bread was GF only to later learn it wasn't, meaning that they quickly had to pivot and force themselves to throw it up in the bathroom. My sister had a migraine the whole next day and couldn't join us on our trip to Block Island. They gave us some free ice creams which was nice but, honestly, if you have GF options on the menu, your staff should be able to tell the difference btwn GF and non GF bread--they look completely different. Even worse was that the manager came over while we were questioning whether the bread was GF or not and said she was "gluten intolerant" and she couldn't even tell the difference between the two baskets of bread we had. She said there was a language barrier in the kitchen but, in reality, it stems from the top. Very disappointed that this experience put a damper on our weekend. Update: my mom also got very sick 2 days later as the gluten intolerance hit her late, thank God neither of...
