Perks & Corks — Restaurant in Westerly

Came here for my best friends 21st birthday, she’d had been waiting all day to finally have one of their popular martinis and chose Perks and Corks specifically to celebrate her birthday. The vibe inside was nice dim lighting and good music. Our designated driver was our 20 year old friend who we had asked the bartender if she could sit with us even if she wouldn’t be ordering and we were told no which we had no problem with but we figured we’d ask. We then got asked for our IDs which was expected and again we complied and honestly we were excited for our friend to share that it was her 21st. The bartender working checked them behind the bar and then he took our ID’s to the back to double check them with a coworker and when he came to give them back we were immediately accused of having fake ID’s. The first thing said to us was “So where did you guys get these?”. We were then each asked a question to prove our ID’s were real like our address, graduation year, height + weight. Now we understand that at times it is procedure but we do believed it wasn’t handled the best way. At the end of the night our friend got to enjoy her birthday martini which was all that really mattered but the experience definitely had a damper on it from the beginning as we felt uncomfortable/unwelcomed to be sitting in. We just recommend that Perks and Corks obtains an ID scanner to avoid making of age customers feel this way when their ID’s are in fact real. From what I hear (I chose not to order) the drinks are great but I wouldn’t recommend celebrating...

Been coming for years and always loved this place. But Saturday at 5 pm it was Barely half full. At least 4 tables and lots of couch seats, plus 5 seats open at the bar. I was approached instantly by the server and was told if i had no reservation there was no seating available? I was like what about all these tables? Oh no very shortly they will all be full. I mean at a minimum 20 seats open? So i went to the bar where half the bar stools were open(5), I was immediately approached by the bartender and told all the spots were reserved and i could not even order? Im soŕry we just wanted a coffe at a coffe shop and It was only 5 pm?? There was no one coming in and i doubt it would have taken us 20 min at the most to have our coffee. Its not good business and the attitude of the employees sucked. Like i said ive been going there 2 or three times a week for years? How do you treat a long standing customer with such disregard? We stood outside for at least 10 minutes trying to figure out what had happened and still not 1 person showed up for the so called reservations. I look forward to this place closing its doors do to stupidity and miss management! One thing for sure neither me or anyone that I know will be visiting again! I have a long reach in the state of RI and you will see the mistake you have made! And to be clear i may have left a bad review once in my whole life, i am a positive person and believe in helping the good business's with positivity. But this was uncalled for and just...

What an amazing surprise...We were in westerly on a business call and asked where the best place to eat was...they suggested Perks and corks because of their grilled cheese and massive drinks....so we went....we got super lucky with front row parking...walking into the spot gave awesome vibes...the bar was on the right and there was couches and comfty looking chill places...the host said to sit wherever and to order at the bar...We found a cute spot with couches and chairs....the drink list is INSANE....So many different options...a little pricey but wait till you taste it....we went with the Reces Peanut butter one and omg it was like drinking a recess cup....We ordered and patiently waited....The sandwiches came with home made chips and a pickle on the side....The sandwiches were amazing !!!! Being a pickle snob I was very impressed with The pickle...Everything was super yummy and it was nice to just relax In a cool environment...we will be back on the weekend for the live entertainment and the roast beef grilled cheese...
