This place is brand new and fabulous. They don’t even have the popcorn and soda fountain machines in yet but they are on their way. They also have a bar and restaurant yet to be opened, awaiting inspection. I took a peek in and it looks great. This is the first time I would ever give a movie theater 10 in cleanliness. From the bathrooms to the seating area, this place is immaculate. If anyone has been in a movie theater when the lights come on it can be off putting. I have been to the Lux theaters and other places of high stature but they still do not compare to this 12 million dollar make over. And the Leg Room! Who haven’t been frustrated when they are squished into a $20 movie seat. No worries here. You could park a VW Bug in the aisle. Great date night place and so much to choose from in way of dinning spots in this area. If you live in the area or are just visiting you have to...

This review covers the United Theater in Westerly and the Talking Heads movie, Stop Making Sense, which captures their epic 1983 concert. The theater is delightful. My first time here and my impression is this is a great venue for movies. The theaters were clean and comfortable, plenty of spacing in the seats, great sound system, full refreshments counter, all around great experience. I was in one of the smaller theaters and I enjoyed the movie immensely. I will be going back. The movie was also excellent. The Talking Heads broke new ground due to the brilliance of David Byrne in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. This concert was at their peak and is not to be missed. High energy, in non-stop fashion, all the way through. I recommend this movie for all...

Just had a great visit to see Spider Man at United Theatre in Westerly, RI. What a cool venue! First, the main theater, where our movie was showing, has an excellent screen and sound, and you sit up on the second level, which is ideal for taking advantage of the large screen. Their concessions has lots of good snack options. We opted for popcorn, which was really fresh. We also checked out the exhibit space, which was showing a well-done photography exhibit. Next time we go we will definitely eat at the attached restaurant, which looks cozy and elegant but doesn’t seem to be too pricey. The whole experience...

What a lovely little town Westerly is, I had an opportunity to see Hiss Golden Messenger and it was an incredible performance. I'm giving two stars because there was some annoying lighting if you were on the back, they had some lights that bothered to see the stage, at least 3 people complained and the person in charge of the lighting said he was not going to do anything about that. I think they had those ceiling lights for the merch and bar, but it was really unnecessary and annoying. We had to move closer to stage and sit on the floor, it could've ruined the experience. I wish I had photos to explain better myself.
