Here’s the thing, I try not to be so judgmental when it comes to Mexican restaurants. Because I know I can be a little biased due to the fact that I was born in Mexico my parents are Mexican and growing up my mom of course always made Mexican food. So I hold a lot of these Mexican restaurants up to the same standards because I want people to love and enjoy Mexican food as much as I still love and always will. However, this place as soon as we stepped in, the ambience of the restaurant is beautiful. The decoration is captivating. They definitely did a splendid job. However, when I go out to eat, I can care little about the decorations. I’m here for the food and quality customer service. When we arrived, the the hostess seated us promptly with menus. Then the waitress about 10-15 minutes go by and we were asked if we would like water by who I assume is one of the owners(wife). I had scanned the menu to see if they have one of the most basic dishes and proceeded to ask the waitress. “do you have Carne asada, with rice and beans because I can’t find it on the menu.” To where she responded with No. automatically down one star. So instead I went with a carne asada fajita mix, that comes with rice and beans. My husband ordered a burrito. Well as we are sitting there another Family comes in and gets seated next to us. The waitress (owner) goes over to the family, she introduces her son to them who just started working there. Hey do you Remember how I said we already ordered. Well as we are waiting there the waitress brings out four plates, the family’s sitting next to us (who arrived after us) food. Well this wouldn’t brother me so much because I thought maybe they ordered nachos. Something quick to make right? Well I saw they had a burrito and fajita. So this restaurant plays favorites I see. Five minutes later our food comes out. The appearance of the food isn’t to bad but I was disappointed to see how little rice I was given. The beef was a dry, and definitely over cooked and under seasoned. Honestly, we won’t come back here again.

My husband and I came here on a Saturday night around 6:30 with no reservation. The place was busy, but we were seated very quickly at a large table meant for 6 in the side room. Service was EXTREMELY slow. It was almost 10 minutes before our server came to grab our drink order. We ordered our food with the drinks, and it was another 10 minutes before we saw the drinks. 15 more after that before we got our food (that's 35 minutes from being seated to having our food...25 minutes from ordering to eating). Our server was a nice guy, but he was super busy and we hardly saw him (we felt so bad for him...the place is clearly understaffed, or at least was that evening). My husband ordered fish tacos and I got a shrimp chimichanga (not on the menu, but easy to whip up). The tacos were just 'meh', but my chimichanga was outstanding! I could only eat half. I took the other half home and had it for lunch the next day. Overall, the experience was just ok. We'll go back, mainly because it's the only Mexican restaurant in town, but they really need to work on their service. If an off-season Saturday night was that slow, I will definitely avoid this place in the summer. The food seems to be hit-or-miss as far as quality, but one thing is definite...the Margaritas are fantastic!

I have to say I was pretty let down by this place. My husband and I were in the area for the day and saw there were a lot of good reviews here. I know people tend to exaggerate negative reviews but the al pastor tacos were literally inedible. Each taco was filled with giant pieces of fat. Not just fatty meat, pure fat. There was even this giant chunk in one that I'm honestly shocked nobody noticed while putting the tacos together. The texture of pure, mushy fat does not exactly complement a tortilla. The rest of the food was good but if they're paying this little attention to the tacos (crazy to think a taqueria would care about the quality of their tacos) then I'd be weary about anything else quality wise. I don't like the idea of hurting a small business but when there is this little care put into something I'm paying for it is pretty frustrating.

Had dinner at Amigos last night (Sunday). The food was good but the service was terrible. We had reservations for 6pm and were seated right away. Our drink orders were taken quickly and the drinks were brought out one at a time. Most of us were happy with our drinks. However, because 3 of us ordered 3 similar but different margaritas, a series of mistakes by the waiter resulted in my wife's margarita being passed around to two different people (who happily took sips) before ending up in front of her, half-finished with 2 other guests' saliva on it. The waiter did not offer to replace it and spilled some on me in the process. We placed our food order afterwards (at around 6:30pm) including some appetizers for the table. The chips & guac were OK and the chips & salsa were very good. At this point there were a bunch of used plates and platters on the table. These were at no point during the meal cleared by the waiter. At 7pm, still no food and no sign of the waiter. At 7:15pm, the waiter came by to tell us there was still another order in front of us and that we had to wait another 15-20 minutes. This was disappointing; there were kids in our party who were very hungry and two people had plans later that evening - they ended up leaving before their food arrived. Who would have thought it would take 3 hours to eat a meal of burritos and tacos? Finally the food arrived a little after 7:30pm. It was quite good but maybe it's because we were all starving. The waiter never noticed that there were two people missing from our party and proceeded to put the food down in front of their empty seats anyway. He was a nice guy but he was clearly not up to the task.

The bottom line: the food is good here but it's unreasonable to expect guests to wait over an hour for burritos and tacos. Don't come here unless you have a lot of time to spare, can deal with minimal service, and are willing to wait a long, long, LONG time for...

My mother called me incredibly upset last night after visiting this restaurant. I've never heard of such horrific service so I felt compelled to leave an additional review on her behalf. She decided to eat here with her friend based on the positive reviews. An hour after ordering, their waitress informed them their food had not even been entered into the kitchen because it was unusually busy for a Wednesday. The waitress avoided her tables and did not give any updates on food. Several other tables got up to leave due to the lack of service and extremely long wait for food. After nearly two hours, they let the waitress know they were leaving the restaurant because they were starving and she responded she would let the manager know. After leaving, my mother realized she forgot her phone and went back to retrieve it. The staff held her iPhone hostage, essentially passing it back and forth between each other like a football, forcing her to pay for the two coca-colas and one app of chips & guac they had before leaving. Instead of writing off these minimal expenses and apologizing for the terrible service, they embarrassed her in front of the restaurant of patrons (hardly any of who had food on their tables). The staff should be ashamed of themselves for treating customers who chose to support their restaurant and wanted to order full meals in such a manner - none of our friends or family will ever be going here. Understandably restaurants can get busy, but if you are reading this review I urge you to take your business elsewhere to ensure a positive...
