Been meaning to come to this place for awhile, and based on the reviews I should have come sooner! My friends from out of town were visiting and we all decided to catch up at 101 Beer Kitchen in Westerville.
The drink menu is really impressive. It as filled with both recognizable & new beers to try, and my girlfriend was really happy with the variety of ciders as well! I stuck to the interesting cocktails. My friend ordered the Tropical Palmoa which packed a punch, and I had the Little Brown Jug which was served in a tall glass. It had a really nice flavor to it which I thought was easy to drink then it definitely snuck up on me so consume with caution. I switched over to 101 Old Fashioned and these were strong and delicious (taking a picture slipped my mind by this point). Served in the classic fashioned glass, with a lemon and cherries on the bottom for flavor. I really liked the size of their ice cube as well, it didn't take up a ton of room in the glass and was easy to drink out of so whoever cuts their ice does a great job. These drinks were between 10$ and 12$ each, so pretty average prices for cocktails. Very worth it.
My friends ordered the Loaded Housemade Tater Tots to share. The tater tots came out nice & hot, and were covered in a drizzle of sriracha cream which was not spicy and added a good flavor. I ordered the Housemade Soft Pretzels. I decided to cut the pretzels in pieces that way we could share with the group. Came with a nice cheese spread. I really liked this, but the tater tots were definitely my fave and easier to share!
I ordered the 101 Burger, which came with Angus beef, bacon, American Cheese, Horseradish Mayo, lettuce, pickles (came with the perfect amount of pickes!), tomato, all between Brioche Buns and served with Parmesan fries. So huge juicy burger and lots of fries. Noticed in someone else's review they switched out the fries for brussel sprouts, so I think I'm gonna try either that or chips next time. Definitely will satisfy your craving for a nice burger.
My friends had the Crispy Lemon Chicken and the Teriyaki glazed pork belly & shrimp bowl. Both looked and tasted delicious, and the serving sizes were NOT small by any means!
Our server was really good and checked up on us at like the perfect times. Definitely kept us restocked on our drinks and was really pleasant and efficient! Additionally, just want to point out and give props to 101 for making an easy to read menu with descriptions so I knew what to expect. That's always comforting.
As we were leaving, we kept commenting how 101 Beer Kitchen was a great pick. Definitely will be back, and I highly recommend everyone...

We truly appreciate the response of the restaurant to our most recent experience! Yes, we'll most definitely keep going to 101 Beer Kitchen because they have, without a doubt, the best, and most interesting, food of any restaurant in the Columbus area, (along with our other favorite restaurant, Jason's Deli, which is also in the Westerville/Polaris area!)
The menu at 101 Beer Kitchen is innovative, interesting, and changes pretty frequently. We love their food because it features fantastic food, yummy food, expertly prepared food, and the most interesting taste combinations. You simply won't find anything else like it anywhere in the Columbus area.
Our family is really busy and we order out at least twice a week. We're VERY regular customers of 101 Beer Kitchen and will definitely continue to support this restaurant. Both their chef's and their hard working staff are all very nice and very personable!
Everyone in our family loves the food at 101 Beer Kitchen! We definitely want other people to know that they have the best food in the Columbus area, (along with our other favorite restaurant, Jason's Deli, which is also in the Polaris/Westerville area.)
My new favorite dish is their Crispy Lemon Chicken! It's absolutely DELICIOUS! It's served with red skin potatoes which are so yummy! It also comes with green beans. My husband had the turkey panini last time, which he enjoyed very much.
My favorite dishes used to be the Pretzel Crusted Chicken Sandwich and the Apple Brie Toast, which aren't available anymore. The Apple Brie Toast was AMAZING! The toast was crispy, it had a yummy balsamic reduction, brie cheese, apple slivers, and super fresh field greens.
But that's also what our family loves about 101 Beer Kitchen! They change up their very innovative menu pretty frequently so you can explore even more new food sensations! No other restaurant in the area changes their menu to offer more incredible food sensations!
If you're in the Columbus area, give 101 Beer Kitchen a try! You won't be...
Read moreWent for a Sunday brunch @ 12:30 with 4 other people. The menu was creative and looked forward to our dining experience; however, the actual experienced was marred by a number of execution flaws. Flaw 1 - Two in our party ordered the craft bloody mary's with anti pasti garnish. The cocktails arrived sans the garnish. When I was able to hail the manager, I explained that the cocktails were missing the garnish. He disappeared to the bar and about 5 minutes later returned with the missing garnish and said that the bartender was in the process of making the garnish sticks. Obviously they knew the garnish was missing but still served the cocktails. I'm fairly confident that if I hadn't said something we never would have received the garnishes. Flaw 2 - One of our party ordered the Salmon BLT which was supposed to be served on Telera bread - unfortunately they ran out of the Telera bread and it was served on Sourdough. Flaw 3 - Another of our party ordered the Southwest Style Chorizo and Gravy. A feature element of this dish was supposed to be the Jalapeno-Cheddar Cornbread, which unfortunately they were also out of and served it with biscuits. Flaw 4 - I ordered the Steak & Eggs which in the description states that it is served with "soft boiled eggs". When my entree arrived my steak was topped with one overly hard set small egg cut in half. The entire joy of steak and eggs in having a liquid yolk on your steak. I was able to catch our waitress and explained that the egg was well overcooked and asked if she could have another prepared. After about 5 minutes I was presented with another overcooked egg cut in half, not much better than the first. Everyone else was well into eating their meals so I just accepted it. Also, the menu item is called "Steak and Eggs", and the description states "soft boiled eggs" (emphasize the plural). It is not called Steak and Egg, nor does the description state "soft boiled egg". Yes, I know the price of eggs has skyrocketed, but given how much they charge for this entree I think they could manage to give you two eggs. Just penny ante...
