My wife wrote this but i share the feelings.
I don't like giving bad reviews but this is necessary. I traveled with my husband for business, and this is one of the two hotels his employer gave as a choice. The other hotel is ALWAYS booked, and now we know why. Here is the LIST of issues:
Their "continental" breakfast consists of fruit. THAT'S IT. The banana my husband picked up in the morning on his way to the office may as well had been green. It was hard as a rock. The hotel that is always booked, has waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, water, bagels, English muffins....need i go on?
The tub refused to drain as my husband showered to go to work. I called the front desk, and 4 hours later, I had to call back. I was informed that the maintenance man had JUST arrived to work. It still took him another hour and 15 minutes to appear.
The tissue box in the bathroom literally had 3 tissues in it. When housekeeping replaced it, there was something sitting on the box, so instead of moving it, replacing the box, and throwing the empty away, they just set it on the edge of the sink which I found about to fall in the toilet, while the old empty box sat in the same spot, being empty.
I am not big on having the room cleaned from top to bottom if I am only going to be there 2 days, so I asked for more coffee, water, tea and washcloths.. What I got was more coffee, NO cups, and they actually removed the already existing UN-USED coffee cup that was already there, and a pile of towels.
5.The TV, remote only turns it on/off, and volume up/down. The buttons on the TV don't change the channel either. Not a huge deal, I was working on my PC anyway, but REALLY!?
Last but certainly not least, the bar area. A simple little average stocked bar, with a bartender who has a lot of personality. I understand that a bartender should be friendly, and engaging, but if I am sitting there having a conversation with my companion, where is the invitation to show me every magic trick and joke that you have ever made up? Know when to give a guest their space. He NEVER stopped talking!
I have never had an issue with any Sheraton until now, and I hope the next time my husband HAS to come to Cbus, that the other hotel is available. Especially considering this place is charging the same rate for a ridiculously...
Read moreMy friends and I came to Columbus on Labor Day weekend for a wedding. The nicest thing I can say about this hotel is the young lady who checked us in. Due to the lateness of the day, we were running behind for the rehearsal dinner. We took our things to the room and noticed quickly how dirty the initial appearance of the room was. There was blood stains on the chair next to the bed, there was a broken down dresser/tv desk stand that had marker marks all over it. The dust and dirt was unimaginable. The room had an odor. That was just the beginning of the horror. We were on limited time and agreed to go ahead unpack and head to the dinner. The following morning, my friend got up to take the first shower since arriving to the hotel. As soon as he started to get into the shower, he slipped and fell. There was a sticky/oil substance all over the shower. Highly assuming based on the condition of the cleanliness of the room, it wasn't properly cleaned after the previous guests. Nobody in my group had used the shower or had any sticky substances like that. We called down to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager right away, we were told he would call us back when he got in. We even left a cell phone number with the associate who answered the call. To no prevail, the manager never contacted us. We had to contact him once we arrived back to the hotel. His initial suggestion was "place a towel" in the actual shower while showering. The managers name was Bruce. Bruce appeared to be wanting to help in someway in the beginning. Bruce promised to refund the points I used to book for the weekend, adding up to 37,500 plus an additional 20,000 for the inconvenience. The gesture was very minimal based on the horror we experienced there. My friend ended up going to the Urgent Care and getting checked out because he was in so much pain. Bruce has failed at holding up to his small gesture. Bruce has failed and keeping his hotel safe for guests. Bruce has failed to keep his hotel up-to-par and clean. I have not received any promised points as of this review. Please think long and hard before staying here. There are other Marriott brands close by, as well as Hiltons nearby. I will also include...
Read moreI understand that COVID has impacted personnel, but our stay was among the worst I have ever experienced. We had stayed there 5 years prior for another relative’s wedding & it was fine. This time the beds were comfortable & clean and the towels were plentiful (even though to had to go personally to the laundry room to get them). But those are about the only nice things I can say about our 4 night (Fri-Tues) stay! Only 1 elevator was working & it was terribly slow. Half the time I took the stairs since we were staying on the 2nd floor. We had to change rooms after the first 4 or so hrs there because the air conditioning wasn’t working well. There was no refridge in either room & the safe was locked so I couldn’t use it for valuables. The ice machine was broken on the second floor, so we had to go to the lobby or 3rd floor daily for ice. Our bathroom ceiling was patched but not painted over & the vent was lined with clumps of filth. The staff was scarce, especially on the weekend. We were in Columbus for another family wedding & at least 6 rooms were booked related to this event. So on Sunday morning many of us went to the lobby to reconnect, pass time, talk & play cards. However, there was a VERY loud meeting going on in one of the conference rooms. It sounded like a Spanish speaking church service with loud singing & preaching for over 3 hours. When the clamor finally stopped for a break, a half dozen or more children were running around & shouting to blow off steam. It was NOT conducive to our small family reunion trying to take place in the dilapidated lounge area near the non-functioning bar. To top it off the double doors leading out to the closed & covered pool area were ‘duct taped’ closed! When we mentioned it to the front desk person, the only response was shrugged shoulders. The last straw took place Sunday evening after the wedding. One of my relatives returned about 9:45 to their room & it was infested with ANTS. They left it 6 hours before with no ants & had to change rooms @ 10 at night with their infant & 3 yr old. Needless to say, we were not pleased with much about our stay. We could not & would not be able to recommend the Polaris Four Points by...
