Gennaro's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Westfield

We have been coming here for longer then I can remember and we have always had a great meal! Tonight I picked up some eggplant parmigiana and a plain pie for the 4 of us. It was so much food we were all stuffed after eating just the eggplant!! The eggplant came in its own container and it was full, there was also a side of spaghetti! The reason why this is important is because other places will put the eggplant on top of the pasta in 1 container! Not here!! The “side dish” of spaghetti was as large as the eggplant entree! The tomato sauce on the eggplant seemed to be a bit thicker and tasted wonderful. The tomato sauce on the pasta was delicious and you could taste a hint of basil in the background. They also gave us a 12 inch roll that we used to dip in the sauce! The pizza is bigger then a usual large pie and it was cooked perfectly. We love Genaros, it’s the perfect neighborhood pizza place that the owners will recognize you and are friendly asking how you and the family are. We have had so many different meals here and it’s like eating at my Italian grandmothers house! And there is an Italian grandmother cooking in the back!!! Genaros is our favorite pizza...

This is one of my favorite pizzeria and restaurants in the area! The family who owns and operates Gennaro’s is one of the friendliest! It’s a very casual place with a pizzeria in the front and a restaurant style dining area in the back. If you want great food this is the spot! A classic slice, specialty slice, salads, garlic breads, and entrees! Great Italian food made by an Italian family! The dinners are the best portions! A chicken entree is served with several pieces of chicken, a side of pasta, and a half loaf of bread. Their Chicken Parmigiana is my favorite entree and I like to get the garlic and oil spaghetti as the pasta side! They package the pasta and dinner in two separate tins for take out and the bread is great for dipping in both the garlic oil and the marinara. They specialty pizzas have toppings piled on! I spent over 30 years of my Italian American life spoiled with some of the best pizza on the planet in Staten Island and Brooklyn, as well as amazing pizza vacationing in southern Italy. The 3 best places in the world to eat pizza- hands down. We have moved around NJ since 2015, trying every highly rated pizzeria in NJ never finding a comparable place. Well, not today.
