¡Authentico! This food was terrific! I had 2 Steak Tacos, made street style with corn tortillas. You also have a choice of flour tacos if you prefer. My friend ordered the Chicken Quesadilla with beans and rice. Both orders came out with enough food for 2 meals! We had no idea of the portion size, being our first time there. The chips and salsa were so good... thin, crispy, fresh and hot chips and outstanding fresh salsa with enough cilantro for a good flavor! We will definitely be back soon! Now, a word to the English only people. This is a working man's restaurant and very well attended by the Hispanic people. Noon had 99% Hispanic men on their lunch hour. Later other ladies came in and the crowd thinned out. The counter attendant spoke excellent English and we had no trouble ordering because the paper menus had Spanish and English (smaller print). It was a surprise when the staff came from the kitchen and placed the order on the counter and said 21 in Spanish. I know a little Spanish from high school so I looked at my ticket and it was me. When my friends order came, I told her it was hers and stepped to the counter to take it to our table. The tables and chairs are new and clean and serviceable. I felt very comfortable there amd frankly we were there for a long time, talking , so I left a good tip in the tip jar on the way out with my Take Home Box! The restaurant is attached to a Hispanic Grocery in back. The grocery is also accessible from the outside west facing wall directly, so you can also shop there...
Read moreI stopped by Taqueria Mexicana for lunch with a couple family members. The shop is fairly small with only five or six tables inside, so it is difficult to dine in if they are busy. We ordered tacos al pastor and tacos carnitas as well as a quesadilla carne asada. The carnitas were quite good, tasting like smoky barbecue and the al pastor was good but not great. I was a little disappointed in how fatty the meat was in the al pastor tacos. There were visible strips and chunks of unrendered fat. Chewy meat is not appetizing. The meat probably could have used a bit more seasoning too. The quesadilla was quite large with a pile of beans and rice to complement it. The price was a little over $2 per taco. Chips and salsa cost extra and are not included with the meal. Overall not a bad lunch, but I'd still love to find that one restaurant that can make al pastor just as good as Mi Cabañita...
Read moreReally bad service! Ignored from the moment we walked in. It states that they have dine in so I'm not sure what was going on. There is no menu to order at a counter, so I would assume seating. Can't assume. We had to walk around a lady cleaning. Got ignored, so my husband had to ask if we could seat ourselves. Just a yes. We sat looking around and waiting. Tired of waiting so we grabbed to go menus so we would at least know what they serve. When he got them off the counter he was the told to place the order at the counter. Okay. We just needed a little information to know what they wanted from us. Which I guess was nothing because we just felt very ignored and unwanted. We just left and went another place where we were greeted immediately. Just for clarification, no they were not busy. We were the...
