I had high hopes for D'Italia but they really fell short. This review is based only on my order which contained a salad and whit pizza slice. In their favor, both items were huge. If I liked them, would have been a great value for the money. Salad average. Iceberg lettuce, 4 cherry tomatoes halved, shredded carrots, chickpeas, and shredded mozzarella. Nothing fancy but huge, could have fed 3.
The whole pizza was horrible. The dough was too thick and bread like, the white was Alfredo sauce (and not tasty) with melted mozzarella and sauteed onions. The menu only listed red or white by the slice, but never did I think the white would be a sauce. And why there were sauteed onions on it is behind my comprehension. I guess that takes us to the menu which is very simplistic when having to describe what is available. Obviously. I would rework this menu completely especially when having your own version of a white pizza containing a sauce, it should probably be described. Extremely disappointed and will never be back to this establishment. Although I only work mere minutes from its location, I was hoping to be able to get some fine Italian cuisine, not so much. Much love to all of you who will continue to enjoy this small business, they need your support. I can not be one of you. Best of luck...
Read moreIf I can give them a zero for Service I would. I called and asked if they could make me a half a tray of fresh lasagna ready to be baked. I was told no problem. They will call me when it’s ready. They call me three hours later and tell me it’s ready. My husband goes pick it up. You would expect something that was custom-made for you and just got done to be boiling hot, right out of the oven fresh. What I got was a refrigerated lasagna Yep just like Stouffer’s. When I go in there this morning and ask them why I got a cold ready-made lasagna when you were pretending to make me a fresh one and called me when it’s done she basically told me they buy it from US foods. They don’t make it themselves talk about advertising for a little tiny Italian place can’t even make their own lasagna and then the chef or cook or whoever the skinny man in the kitchen was became very aggressive and argumentative and basically said “what’s your problem? I don’t see the big deal.” Horrible service, horrible food! Just so you know, you’re not getting anything special by going there. You can get the same thing out of the freezer section of the local...
Read moreI will be fair here. I review all new restaurants I visit, regardless of location. I knew nothing of this restaurant until this morning, based on a suggestion from someone on the East side. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan and my guest ordered Veal P pasta meals. We also ordered 3 meatballs and Desserts as well.
The marinara was excellent! Not greasy...very dense. I enjoyed my parmesan as well. The garlic bread was wonderful!!
We also ordered Tiramisu and cheesecake. Both were great. The only comment would be to increase the bottom crust of the cheesecake, regardless if it was her mother's original receipe. Most cheesecakes have a crust you can see, and it is my favorite part of the dessert. But otherwise it was so tasty.
I think I will suggest this place for our holiday party just for the...
