Not a African American friendly place, I live in the apartments next door, my friend and I decided to stop in after work for food and drinks, the bar tender comes to the table with a puzzled look on her face and asked if we wanted drinks, we ordered our drinks and the customer service went downhill from there. Prior to this, we were stating how hungry we were for food and needed a menu. The menu never came and we were never asked if we wanted refills even after sitting for several minutes with empty glasses on the table. The bar was not busy as this was 3pm. A few White customers came in and sat down and they were offered menus and treated like royalty, bad enough we had to leave out with our clothes and hair smelling like cigarettes and even worse that you would put prejudice over profit. While this bar may have a humble facade from the outside, step indoors and you'll find the kind of heart and spirit you would expect from an old fashioned gathering spot. It's such a friendly atmosphere...the staff are so patient and kind, and the people I've met there are fun and amicable. The food is good, especially the burgers. Karaoke nights (hosted by Stacy, Nick, and Rick depending on the night) are a blast...whether someone is a regular or a first-timer the whole bar is supportive and gracious. The building seems small, the parking lot IS small but somehow this place packs a lot of people in. The server's have their routine down pretty solid, even when it's packed they do get around frequently. Karaoke night is a handful, if you want a low key evening it's probably best to look elsewhere because it gets pretty intense.
