Worst dining experience I’ve had in Denver, unfortunately. I met with a group of friends (4 others) for lunch. They were all doing the “Unlimited BBQ,” but I was not able to do that. I told the waitress that I could not do that and she said that the unlimited bbq had to be a table decision. She mentioned that the only exceptions were for “allergies or vegetarians.” I told her, again, that I could not do the unlimited. I was with a group of new friends that I did not think I would be forced into explaining my dietary restrictions, but I guess that was the case.
In order to allow the other 4 members of our group to order their menu choices, I was forced to order it as well. I was only able to eat a small cup of white rice.
On top of the $40 charge for the unlimited, an 18% gratuity was also added to my bill, bringing the total for my cup of rice and diet soda to $51.90.
To not disturb my group or put their food safety at risk, I waited until after they left to call to speak to a manager. When I called, I spoke with a very unprofessional staff member who refused to share her name with me. She told me that they did not have a manager and that I would need to speak to the owner, whom she said is “maybe” there after 1pm M-F. After explaining my situation and wondering if they would be willing to lower the amount that they charged me, she told me that she did not like the tone I presented and threw the phone down while she got our waitress.
When my waitress got on the phone, she told me that she did remember me saying I couldn’t do the unlimited, but said that since I didn’t blatantly say that I had a dietary restriction, there was nothing that the company would do about it.
She gave me her name and the owner’s name, but also would not share the name of the disrespectful person I first connected with.
A food establishment should not require somebody to blatantly share information about a dietary restriction in order to honor their request of ordering something different off of the menu, especially when they would have changed the menu selection for the four other members of our party.
Owner (I won’t put your name here, but I know it and have this phone call recorded), please respond to me with a good time to contact you and I will do so.
I’ll look forward to speaking with you - I think there’s a huge learning opportunity here for you...
Read moreCan't complain much about the food, because it was pretty good. The problem is with the service. Maybe they were having an off night, but if this is their usual level of service then I would question their supposedly high ratings and good reviews. We ordered the "unlimited" meats option, including unlimited sides, etc. We were one of only 2 tables there when we started eating, and I even had a conversation with the "server" explaining how it was my birthday. So you'd think you wouldn't be forgotten about right? Especially when you're in direct line of the kid at all times from anywhere he's at in the restaurant. Wrong. Never offered another drink, another bowl of rice, nothing. Oh, and he told me right off the bat they offer people nothing for their birthdays. Stupid, lazy, and cheap. Good combination. Then, when we finally got offered some assistance by another girl working a few of the tables, who finally noticed that we we just sitting there waiting for something to happen, I explained the situation and that we had no service the entire time... So what does she do? Well she brings me the bill, in full, and tells us that maybe next time we come in she will give us a free appetizer. Ha, good one! Her excuse : "sorry they've been getting really slammed all day." Oh really? Weird since we were one of only 2 tables seated in the whole place just 45 mins before. I'd hate to see what happens when they are actually busy. The people seated across from us, who came together but took up two tables next to each other, had one of the tables order taken and the other also ignored and forgotten until they spoke up. On a role. Keep it up guys. Appreciate the overpriced and memorable birthday experience. 2 stars for the food, which by the way we had no idea what it was or how to cook it properly, (because explaining that would have required too much effort, or probably cost extra?) and 0 for...
Read moreService: Was seated next to a party of 6 whom one of the women talked and laughed VERY LOUDLY. They must know the owners/restaurant staff as at least five of them kept going back to that table and even took shots, which just made it even louder. It was very bothersome. One of the girls asked for our drinks, but we never got them until 30 mins later when we asked for them. Although she was in the other table of 6, talking it up with the customers. Another girl who was not pleasant to deal with came up to our table and turned down the grill without saying a word, then walked away. The low setting took a long time to cook our meats. Also, we asked questions and asked her for something like more meat. We hadn't even finished talking, and she just walked away. She did this multiple times like she was too impatient with us, it made us feel uncomfortable. These people are not trained to have better customer service skills and proper manners towards their customers. Please show some respect. Food: I expect the bulgogi to be flavorful. It was barely marinated with anything. Other than the galbee, which is only served once in the unlimited dinner, everything else tasted unseasoned/bland. We were in North Carolina last week and went to a kbbq there. The food was so delicious and we were treated very nicely by all the staff that we wanted to try it again here in Denver. This restaurant does not compare to the one in North Carolina and it is almost the same price. The restaurant in NC offers 19 meats and 10 other foods/side dishes. Look up Seol Grill in Cary, NC. Maybe you can learn a thing or two from them. Seol Grill changed our hot plate/grill three times in that 2-hour dine-in. Dae...
