Part 1 of 2
Hello there! I know typical reviews are just a barrage of negativity and issues that everyone experiences, but to be honest, coming from the east coast, I have a soft spot for Dunkin.
That said, I also worked at one, in Boston, during rush hours as a teenager and a young adult, and the way this Dunkin is mismanaged is a travesty to all Dunkies everywhere. Below I have outlined how you run a Dunkin properly. Hopefully someone at the store reads this and gets a promotion out of it but moreover, you can stop disappointing everyone who has the courage to try again with your location.
First, fire everyone! None of the current teenagers there have any idea how to run a business much less one where you must be courteous, quick and effective. They miss two out of three of those, every time I roll through.
Next, your interview process for your new hires:
I get it, no one wants to work at a fast food joint unless you absolutely have to, but the only problem is that you need people that are still going to take pride in their work. Stop hiring people that genuinely don’t care about anything, much less the service they provide to people. Once you have the hiring process squared away, now we can talk about layout of the store during working hours. During the week I am betting you have rushes. Probably morning and afternoon, or you soon will, once you get some of your Yelp reviews out of the gutter. Rushes should be handled in this fashion, and with this staffing, to accommodate: The Window This is the most important. If your window backs up, everyone hates the person at the window; that’s no fun for anyone because you will not fill the tip jar and you can count on repeat customers going somewhere else. Plus! It’s most likely not their fault the window is backing up – usually, they take the attitudes and have to be able to deal with it as well. Some customers are just a$$h0l3s regardless (You know who you are). The drive-thru coffee station should always have a minimum of 2 (but really 3 is better) personnel between 5:00-5:30am – 9:30-10:00am. This gives you adequate staff to ensure the window doesn’t get backed up. WRITE ON THE DAMN CUPS – Every order should be written on the cups as the customer is saying it through the headsets. It doesn’t matter if the computer is writing it down and you stick a stupid receipt to it, because that clearly doesn’t get the customer an accurate order every time with this establishment. When the customer is giving their order, no matter how annoying, writing it on the cup saves time and effort with trying to figure out what the customer ordered. Asking me three times, twice at the menu outside, and then again at the window, what my order was again, is disgraceful and should be punishable by banning every employee in the establishment from ever working again. How to avoid this? I’ll say again, “WRITE ON THE CUPS”!!! Guess what else writing on the cups allows your staff to do? o That’s right, they can read the order back to the customer o YOU NEED TO DO THIS. Bruh, confidence in you and your staff is literally in a week-old dumpster fire behind Burger King right now. Say it back to every customer so they aren’t wondering what sort of mystery items your giving them out the window. Also, the person leaning out the window should have some sort of a personality – you know…. Like they’ve talked to other human beings before. Have them greet quickly with, “Hello, your total is “xyz”.” Is fine enough. A little extra usually gets tips. By that time, the coffee station employees should be finishing up the order and getting it to the window and sandwiches should long since be ready to go out.

Read moreI came in late morning on a Monday,to order a coffee, meaning to use up the remainder of a gift card that I had received several years ago. The person at the counter was pleasant enough and greeted me in a friendly way. I ordered a latte almond milk. I was flabbergasted at the price for a medium latte -Was $5.00 and in order to substitute almond milk. I was charged an extra $.99 on top of that. Absolutely ridiculous, but I guess these are the times we live in. Anyway, after waiting five minutes to get my beverage, I picked it up to see that it weighed almost nothing and thought that was strange. As I went to take a sip, it was cold, and I realized that the latte that I ordered was given to me with only the foam milk on top. And that wasn’t even warm . There was no coffee in it whatsoever and yet it had been placed on the counter saying “I have a medium hot latte ready.” !!!!! 🙄🙄🙄. I went back to to the counter to let them know. And the response was “sorry about that”. Like it was a minor mistake instead of an absolute blunder. I don’t know if coffee was then just dumped in to the milk that was on top, but I know it was not made in a new cup because the rim of my cup was smashed in on the side where the worker had removed the lid, done whatever she did and then crammed the top back on. This caused the beverage to leak out of the side every time I took a sip. There were a few customers eating inside store, and some people in the drive-through, but it was not rush-hour, nor a busy weekend morning. So I’m not real sure what would cause the “barista” to forget to put coffee into my drink. Live and learn, I guess, with...
Read moreFebruary 2018 - I love your breakfast but two days in a row my order has been fudged in some way. The first day I was given 3 sandwiches when I had only ordered 2 and only one of the sandwiches was what I wanted. The second day I ordered a latte with almond milk because I am lactose intolerant and was given a coffee with heavy cream in it. I’m not sure if your drive through needs updating to better hear the customers but something needs to be updated so that the consumer actually gets what they ordered. By the time I figured all of this out for both accounts I was already at work 20 minutes away. A note to anyone that orders from here, check your bag and drink before it’s too late!
April 2018 - Wanted to post a follow up review to my first one. The drive through has definitely improved. I haven't had a mix up and have been back at least 5 times. Thanks for the improvement!
March 2019 - No cheese on a sandwich seems to be really hard to follow and your software needs serious updating to signify something like this because the NoChz on the receipt isn’t enough for whoever is building it. I think about 50% of the time I end up with cheese when I ask for no cheese. Please do something...
