G's Tacos - Westy — Restaurant in Westminster

My wife and I have been coming here for years. We LOVE coming here and we came here because the food, service, and the great neighborhood warm, welcoming feel of the place. The staff always remembered our names and we were treated so great!

This last year the place has seen a lot of turnover of employees. This has not helped the service. It has gone down hill quite a bit. Approximately two months ago we had a server ask us to hurry up and order because he was busy. It’s been a bummer to see the service go down. It has really hurt the atmosphere of the place for us.

The place has seen a tremendous increase in prices again and again. They use to have 2 and 4 taco deals. Then it changed to 2 and 3 tacos deals and they raised the prices when they did this. Came in today and saw they had new menus and raised prices again. We compared the menu with another review that had a picture of the old menu. The prices were up significantly. Really...$8.00 for a breakfast burrito?

We come here for the service, food, and atmosphere. All have gone downhill...except the prices! We’re going to miss coming here as often.

We live within walking distance from this place but never got around to checking it out until my neighbor talked me Into it, I kinda thought it was a bar. We walked here with our 2 year old on a Wednesday around 6pmish and it wasn’t that busy. There was 1 employee with her back toward the front punching in stuff on the computer and that was all, she didn’t turn around or anything but several folks at the bar saw us with our kid and seriously gave us this “what are you doing here” kinda look. Every table by the door was filthy so we waited to see if anyone would notice us. After several minutes my wife walked over to the gal (still on the computer) and asked for menus and for the table to be wiped off. She was handed menus and after at least 5 minutes we were still standing there waiting to sit at a clean table. My patience ran out and we walked back home where we got In the car and drove to the place across the street where we were sat immediately and had perfect service as usual. Sorry but this place is not for us, definitely seems more of a bar scene then a family...

I was in there about five years ago and was not impressed. However I happened to be in the neighborhood & thought I'd try it again as I was hungry. I walked in and stood there for a few minutes there was no one in sight so I seated myself. A few minutes later my waitress came out and said "she was cleaning the bathroom." I almost got up and left on that comment. Against my instincts I said I'd would like to eat in & ordered a beef & bean burrito which was served on a plate but it was wrapped in aluminum foil like a handheld burrito. There was no lettuce, no tomatoes, no sour cream & of course no guacamole. I had to ask for a fork & I never saw my waitress again until I asked for the bill. I think $10 plus tax for a handheld burrito that is only mediocre is outrageous. You can get BIGGER, BETTER burritos all over North Denver for five or six bucks, that are more authentic with better service. I won't...
