Service needs A LOT of work.
It pains me to give them a bad rating because the people were actually very nice and friendly. We stopped by not knowing it was their grand opening, but it was made very clear with the terrible service. The wait to be seated was about 30 minutes. We didn’t mind considering the place was fairly small and the food seemed promising.
They have a decent menu with a wide range of mì, bánh bao, and hủ tiếu options. Food was decent, but not good enough to make up for everything else.
They were also giving each person a bánh bao which we got really excited about. Because people were getting really impatient while waiting to be seated, the workers were giving them their bánh baos while they waited — when they were supposed to serve it to them at the table. My family decided to just wait and have them serve it to us at our tables properly.
We ordered an appetizer and 3 dishes: Mực Chiên Giòn, Hủ Tiếu Hải Sản, Mì Thập Cẩm (Nước), and Mì Thập Cẩm (Khô). We even confirmed with the waitress that took our order that we ordered 4 food items.
20 minutes after ordering, we still didn’t receive anything — no bánh baos, no drinks, no appetizer, and no utensils. People that were seated after us even received their items before us. I had to personally ask them to bring out our drinks. Then our appetizer and dishes came out shortly after. Only 2 dishes arrived though: the Hủ Tiếu Hải Sản and Mì Thập Cẩm (Khô). We thought that they were gonna bring the last one out right after and just waited. After 10 minutes, we realized that they had forgotten about our dish. We were gonna tell them, but realized that it wasn’t worth it.
Mực Chiên Giòn: 9/10 - super tasty but a very small portion Hủ Tiếu Hải Sản: 6/10 - basic and lacked flavor Mì Thập Cẩm (Khô): 7/10 - tasty noodles but soup didn’t have a rich broth
After we were done with our meal, we thought we should at least get our free bánh baos only to discover that they RAN OUT. This made me really upset because we all know they ran out because they gave them all away to the people waiting to be seated instead of their ACTUAL PAYING CUSTOMERS. What’s most upsetting is that the people who got bánh baos while waiting actually ending up leaving due to the long wait. What a joke.
All that aside, the restaurant itself was very nice and they have a decent amount of tables. My parents really enjoyed the Vietnamese food cart that they have for decoration. It brought back nostalgic memories of selling food back in Vietnam for them. ♥️
TIPS FOR IMPROVEMENT: More efficient serving system Prioritize paying customers over potential customers
Since it’s located in a popular Little Saigon plaza, parking can be quite difficult. Even though we had an awful experience, we hope they can improve in the future.
I wish them great success and am open to come back...
Read moreA new noodle place, about 5 months old. Went for lunch mid week. The place was nice, clean, half occupied, so it's fairly popular for a new place. Parking was a bear in that Lion Plaza with the super market shoppers and many cafes where old men sit around, smoke and talk nonsense.
They serve a large menu of many dishes, primarily wheat and rice noodle soups very authentic to the soups in the old Saigon. They even have a cart, traditional way the Fukinese cook their noodles. But It's only a show piece. They cook in the kitchen.
The bowl was large with a good amount of noodle and lots of tasty proteins with fresh chives and shredded lettuce, exactly the way they cook in Saigon. I ordered their special noodle $14, dry, which came with large shrimps, squid, BBQ pork, liver, chicken, fried fat cubes, laden with their savory sauce. It's not exactly the healthiest but very tasty hehe. It came with a cup of soup, good but light, lacks the tasty depth of typical Fukin soup in Saigon. Half way through, I asked for another cup of soup. They quickly brought it out gratis.
The service was pleasant and professional. Big bowls of tasty authentic Vietnamese noodle worth coming back to try their other dishes.
This place is nice, clean, neat enough with good food that I would bring friends and visitors from...
Read moreI recently discovered this newly opened noodle spot with a soft opening. On a rainy day, I decided to take my mom there to try their Cantonese noodle soup, which I have always loved since I was a child. We arrived at 10:30 in the morning and were surprised to find the place already packed. After a 15-minute wait, we were finally seated. The waitress was incredibly friendly and informed us that our order might take a while. Although we didn't mind waiting as long as the food was delicious, we noticed many tables around us complaining about the long wait for their food. It seemed like the kitchen was a bit inefficient. After waiting for another 15-20 minutes, our food finally arrived. I was amazed by the quality of the dishes. As a vegetarian, I ordered a bowl of thin rice noodles with veggies and tofu, while my mom ordered egg and rice noodles with a combination of meat and veggies. We both loved the clean and flavorful broth, which wasn't too oily or salty. In addition to the noodle soup, we also ordered Chinese donuts. Overall, it was a fantastic bowl of noodle soup, and I would love to come back and try their other dishes. Hopefully, they will find a more efficient way to run their kitchen next time, or I might have to order takeout to avoid...
