Valente's Deli, Bakery & Italian Market — Restaurant in Westminster

Looking for an Italian Deli since we’re new to area. Went hungry so we can grab a bite and do a little food shopping. Sandwich was okay. Bread kept falling apart, very messy. Didn’t have a variety of imported cheeses or Italian meats, that weren’t hot and/or spicy. No olives (green or black) mixes. Customer service was less than desirable. All we wanted to do was pay our bill. Was told “be right with you”. And waited. And waited. You get the picture, along with the line behind us. When the gal finally stopped doing whatever, she walked over to the meat counter and started to help there. I’m guessing when busy the motto is ‘get them to place their order first. The others can wait.’ My husband finally called her over. After whispering something to the other customer, she came over by us. In the meantime, so did someone else who ended up helping us out with the rest of our order. First visit there. Sadly, it will be our last. You know those ‘first impressions’. I’m sure everyone’s visit is different. But it was our visit that counted for us. Hopefully your visit...

I was so disappointed when I went here. I went with my mother, sister, and nephew for a quick lunch close to work, however, the girl behind the counter was so put out that we actually wanted sandwiches. We tried to eat our sandwiches at the tiny corner table, which was interesting but we were making it work. My nephew was pretty small, so it was a little difficult to wrangle him and keep him still. We were not even half way through our lunch when we were asked to leave! I chalked it up to a crazy kid in a small space, but I still couldn't believe it. My sister decided to purchase a canoli before we left, she was a nickle shy of the cost and the young lady ringing her up treated her like she had no right asking for something if she didn't have the full amount (which she did, as everyone has change in their car). The overall experience was so disheartening, as I've heard nothing but good about this place. I, however, won't be trying it again. Hopefully others fair better...
