Yummy Express — Restaurant in Westminster

Yummy makes the best banh mi and banh bao. So when they opened up a pho shop, I expected good quality. This plaza has good parking and the shop is nice and clean. Very modern for a pho restaurant. They give you steamed beansprouts and the menu is much more diverse than the one I went to in FV. However, the pho here is not the greatest. It's kinda like your friend who doesn't make the best pho but it's edible. The broth lacks depth and the beef does not smell good. They are very generous with the xi quach (beef ribs) and you get a lot if you pay $6. I'm thinking they used the beef ribs to impart the collagen in the broth which is a technique but I prefer knuckle bones. and lots of them. I felt the broth was more watery and less gelatinous than a good pho shop and the aromatics were way off. The plus is they take credit card but...

Service is awesome, but recipe needs work.

When it comes to phở in the OC, the competition is tough to beat. My family knows that good phở is difficult to come by so our expectations were not very high. The menu is very straightforward with wide options of meat choices for the beef pho. Although they don't have many different appetizers or other dishes to try out, we didn't mind since the phở seemed promising.

Phở Tái, Gân, Bò Viên: 6/10 - broth had a slightly sour aftertaste and meatballs didn't have any tendon

The workers were super attentive and friendly which made our experience even better. The place was very spacious and we enjoyed sitting in the booths. They're located in the Catinat Plaza which has plenty of parking, but can crowded at peak times.

Overall, not the worst but also...

My parents and I came on Easter Sunday because our original plans fell through—and we are so glad it did! We didn’t realize Yummy Pho replaced the previous restaurant. The remodeled space is fresh and spacious, it’s a lot more modern now. There wasn’t a wait, but I can see this place becoming more popular over time. Their menu is really minimal but they do each dish incredibly well. We ordered the Chicken Pho with dark meat and it was yummy! The broth was flavorful and the chicken was well cooked and seasoned.
