Full Pizza — Restaurant in Weston

I am not one to trash restaurants, which is why I left 2 stars instead of 1, but i do have to say this Hungry Howies in Weston did not live up to the standard I am used to from this restaurant. I grew up in Indiana and had Hungry Howies on a regular basis, and then when I moved to West Palm Beach I found another Howies restaurant and was ecstatic because everything was identical, with excellent prices. Fluffy flavored crust with plenty of seasoning, fresh ingredients, all for around $6.95 for a large 1 topping.

This time around i had ordered it for pickup and was really looking forward to once again having the Hungry Howies delicious pizza after 1 year of moving away from West Palm…was surprised when I opened up the box. My girlfriend actually asked me “did you order thin pizza or what?” And i said no just the regular thing I usually order at Hungry Howies. The pizza did not look as fresh, the crust was nothing like the fluffy crust I was used to, and the seasonings were way too light to the point where you couldn’t even really tell the difference between 2 different kinds…it was also not hot, granted i did pick it up an hour after ordering but most pizza companies have a warmer oven that keeps it hot even if you don’t pick it up right away.

This could be a classic case of a franchise Hungry Howies trying to get fancy with their own way of doing things, but honestly just stick to the corporate formula. It’s worked til now, there is a reason Hungry Howies has been in business. Changing it to some thin crust knockoff version of the original is doing a disservice to...

This place used to be a community staple, but unfortunately after more than a decade of being a loyal customer (once + a week) the product and service changed, apparently due to a change of management. Now we have to call multiple times to place an order, and the few times when we can get an order placed, the pizzas are at least 20% smaller than the box, look at the pictures. A medium pizza in a large box? what is the point? We are so sad to say goodbye, but this is our last order from hungry howies Weston.

UPDATE 1/27/2024 - Response to owner: Some of your facts are not accurate. What your manager told us was that it was normal for the pizza to shrink, not that she had made a medium pizza accidentally. Also, she offered to remake the pizza but we were already eating and she did not offer to deliver it. We were not going to pause dinner time to go pick up another pizza 30+ min later when ready. As far as the credit for a future order, she also said that she could not guarantee the credit to be honored since she is not always on site. Finally, regarding the issue of unanswered calls since Nov 2023, she said that there were problems with the phone lines, but then she contradicted herself by saying that she chooses not to answer calls when the restaurant is too busy. I have been a customer at this pizzeria for many years, tonight I had a very bad experience with a woman with glasses who claims to be the manager of the pizzeria at the moment, 2 weeks ago my family and I ordered some pizzas and a Coca- When I picked up my order, they gave me the pizza but not the Coca-Cola. When I got home I immediately called to tell him that they had not given me the Coca-Cola. The very kind boy told me not to worry, he would leave a note. When I go later they would give me the Coca-Cola and I told her that's fine, we'll do it, today we'll order pizza. When he arrives to pick up the pizza I told him what happened 2 weeks ago and the manager came out with the most rude thing that could exist and m3 he said there they don't leave a note of anything that at no time did they write down anything blah blah I told him, MADAM, calm down, it's just a Coca-Cola and he continued like this as if I were someone who wanted to have a Coca-Cola without paying at least that much. That's what I felt, she raised her hand, turned her back on me and they simply didn't give me anything, it's not because of the product, it was her rude and unprofessional manner that she told me in an upset voice!! 0 star for that manager, I won't go back to that place for a while and I already told my daughters not to order anything there again until they improve the service.
