Is this place a joke? My sandwich was priced incorrectly and they tried to charge a dollar more than what was listed on the menu. Not the end of the world especially for a place that just opened yesterday but no reason for the cashier/manager to start punching the counter and slapping the computer in anger.
Some concerning things to note aside from the inaccurate sandwich pricing: the bread (bagged, sliced bread from the grocery store) was piled into a single milk crate on the floor and the $1 label on Arnold Palmer tea was colored in with a marker so that they could up charge the item (for $2) As far as ambiance goes, think clean hospital room but with metal wire shelving everywhere. No seating available.
On top of this, the sandwich itself was the most disappointing food item I’ve purchased in recent memory. I was shocked by how little it weighed when the sandwich artist handed it to me. The roast beef was fatty and overcooked. The lettuce was old and browning. You’d think that a $14 “signature” sandwich would be composed of more than un-toasted bread, a single slice of cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a few slices of roast beef. What would motivate someone start a deli when they have no idea how to construct even the most basic sandwich aside from scalping people via absurd pricing?
I’m not even remotely joking when I say that I’m legitimately confused as to how this place exists and would be surprised if it lasts for more...
Read moreThis place and the owners are truly amazing—ignore the random 1 star reviews, they clearly have no sympathy or understanding for what it takes to get a small business in their first few weeks up and running while trying to train and find staff!
These owners are amazing and so are their options. We frequently walk up to this spot and sit outside (they have great tables with umbrellas!). If you walk the store you’ll find options for anything you’d wish. My kids love the frozen smoothies in the freezer section—they’re basically healthy ice cream cups. I love that they work to stock other local small businesses on the shelves and sustainable companies.
We’ve had many of their sandwiches, always stuffed and full of great produce. Every sandwich I see made is enormous and looks fantastic. My son is obsessed with the peanut butter and jelly—have them toast it, it’s unreal.
Definitely give this place a shot—you won’t be disappointed. So glad to see a shop...
Read moreWhat a great new market and deli - welcome to the neighborhood Hungry Lyons! I thoroughly enjoyed a classic roast beef sandwich on toasted wheat bread with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Service with a smile and I love the passion I see behind the counter! Not only do you offer a variety of great breakfast and lunch sandwiches but you also carry quite the spread of high end cooking ingredients without the high price tag. For anyone complaining about price - tell them to take a look at the cost of real estate these days! We all need to support each other and small businesses. You are doing a great job and couldn’t be happier with the variety of items you...
