My sister and I have ordered a take-out from this " so-called restaurant" for my mother's birthday. After picking up the food, I realized that the order was missing a couple of items . I called back the restaurant to inform them of their mistake. I was told it would take 3 days for the money to be refunded to my credit card. I checked 5 days later and nothing was refunded. when I called the restaurant, one of their employees told me that none of the managers knew who would initiate the refund ( pure negligence & an obvious lack of structure) which why it was never taken care of. He went back and forth and did not call me back when he said who would. The next day, I called back trying to get an answer. First, I spoke with someone who had no idea of what they were talking about. After that, I received a call from someone who introduced himself as the owner and told me that " he" was getting tired of me calling them to have the situation clarified. I have to mention that I am the customer who paid for a service that was not provided and had to chase them down to get a refund that I am entitled to. Apparently they can't refund my card, but instead ask for my bank account information. Why would I give anyone my bank information, especially those people who can't even be trusted to refund $6 and have the audacity of telling me that they are getting tired of me calling ( I called 3 times in 6 days) when they should be the one to make sure that the appropriate steps are taken to reimburse my credit card. It takes a lot to make me angry. I drove a little more than an hour to do business with people who have absolutely no principle, no work ethic, no integrity and no class. That was my experience. To each their own. All I know is that was the last time for...
Read moreWe don't get out much so when we do we both try to support local restaurants and try to dine at new places. After some research we landed on Gisele's. Let's just say we will never return. I'll bullet our list of concerns and end with the positives.
Concerns: they offered no water. The only water she offered us was tonic water. We had to eventually beg for a glass of tap water when my daughter started crying over the spicy food.
-we ordered the stwewed snapper...it was served to us cold. Cold fish that's supposed to be stewed?? Come on now. They "heated" it for us...so we are warmed snapper
the snapper was not fresh. We eat snapper quite often and the fish had a fishy taste to it.
we ordered rice and beans with our fish and I found hair in it. We told the waitress and she just said "I'll take it off the bill's and walked away. Well what was I supposed to eat? She didn't offer more rice...
-when we received our bill they comped us one of the fish dishes, which I guess was nice, but the prices on the receipt for the fish and the side of rice and beans was higher than what was on the menu. I bring this up to the waiter and she tries to argue with me that the prices include tax. I told her to look at the receipt...taxes were reported on a separate line.
after our time and money spent...we left hungry. Terrible
Good things: the rice and beans were flavorful before we found hair in them. we also liked the flavor of the Mac and cheese -the rum punch was pretty good.
I wish we had something better to report but just a caution for others...
Read moreOkay so let me start by saying we already expected the service to be bad because every time we come we have to wait at least 45 minutes for a appetizer. We come here to support this restaurant because my boyfriend is haitian and he wanted the pumpkin soup for New Year’s Day. They really need to take some pride in their customer service, it’s nonexistent. We started by ordering Akra and pumpkin soup as appetizers, we had to wait 50 minutes for our food. We timed it from the time we ordere because we know they are slow. After waiting 30 minutes for our appetizer we asked the waitress three different times if they could give us a status on our food. She kept saying it’s almost ready. But when the food that was ours was ready the waitress went to every table asking them if our order was theirs. They gave away our food to people that arrived 30 minutes after us 3 different times. Also the drinks barely have alcohol and they don’t have a bartender. When our fish with sauce came out it was cold and we had to ask them to warm it up in the microwave. My rice and plantains were cold and they brought my akra out with my meal even though I wanted it before my meal. The big lady that works there told us the akra and drink would be free because we had to wait 50 min to eat. But when it was time to pay she told the waitress she would only cover the drink and we had to pay for the akra. She wouldn’t even come out to tell us this to our face. I won’t be coming back. I’ll stick with port au prince in silver spring. They have better customer service and...
