I love this place and choose them over Starbucks every time. I love thé choices of latte flavors. I’ve had the lavender vanilla which is always a home run and tried the egg custard latte (half-sweet) which was amazing. I’m dairy free and they have plenty of alternative milks to choose from. Oat is my favorite for coffee drinks. I love what they stand for and support (abused women) and love giving my business to companies with great morals. The coffee shop itself is adorable and inside an old house which is light and bright and full of windows. It is a tight squeeze inside but they have outdoor seating and I think an upstairs room as well. Our only complaint was the espresso. My husband ordered a double shot and it was cold and bitter. We don’t know if they made it before my latte (which seemed perfectly warm) and let the espresso sit too long? We did not hear our name called (heard everyone else’s names called) and the person serving left them in a different room and we didn’t know she put them there. So assuming they sat for a while before we realized what happened. Either way we think there seems to be an issue with training employees. Please call names clearly (it’s a very small space, so should not be an issue) and make sure the espresso is very hot and fresh. Also their “mediums” are more like smalls or a Starbucks tall so i felt it was a bit misleading. Otherwise a great place for a cup of joe.

Small business coffee shop that offers a variety of flavors. There's a small room before you reach the line to place your order where you can browse some items for sale. The first time I went here, I ordered an iced java mocha latte and a pumpkin muffin. The coffee was bold and flavorful. It wasn't too sweet and was better than Starbucks (in my opinion). The pumpkin muffin came with a dollop of butter on top, and it was so good that I bought another before I left. It was even better the second time when I ate it the next day. I warmed it up in the microwave, and the muffin became super soft and pillowy. The butter melted a little to give that glazed effect, and I ended up eating the whole thing within 2 minutes. I walked to this coffee shop the next day, and I ordered a decaf lavender vanilla latte. It was so good. You could taste both the lavender and the vanilla without it being overly sweet. It was a perfect treat during my walk in the chilly morning. Highly recommend this little coffee shop. There are even small rooms you can occupy inside if you need to do some work while you're there.

I’ve been coming back to this spot biweekly for the past year since I discovered this place. Their flavored lattes (both hot and iced) are to die for - especially the churro, salted caramel, and lavender vanilla. For a snack, I enjoy the mini salted brown butter doughnuts. Their cucumber watermelon mint and mango peach refreshers are also delicious and a caffeine free option. I also love the fact they support such good causes to benefit needy communities. The ambiance is so cozy and has 2 floors that are great to use - the first for socializing and the second for studying. I’ve had many encounters of awesome customer service here as well. My only complaint is I ask for light ice, and they charge extra for light ice. Despite this, I still get at least half a cup of ice… Besides this critique, My Half of the Sky is hands down my favorite coffee shop ever. It’s honestly a hidden gem 💎🩷.

Went in for coffee and a quick snack, the coffee is wonderful and the service is great and I LOVE the mission and social justice work of this coffee shop. It pains me to write this because I wanted this to be amazing , but the food unfortunately was not great and I wanted to love it! The empanadas were dry and crusty crunchy pastry and the filling didn’t fill the space of the pastry. Ordered the ham and cheese and egg and cheese and they were dry. We also ordered the brown sugar scone and it was dry and tasted frozen. Go there for the coffee and the amazing ethos, eat somewhere else. There were great little trinkets and so much information on the walls about the work that this business does for the community.
