We've been ordering from 302 since they opened and throughout the pandemic. Every other time we've had great service and great food, which is why I decided to order carry out for my burger-loving partner's birthday.

I placed an order for a burger, side, and drink meal for 4 and they said it would be ready in 20-30 minutes. Based on past orders that was totally reasonable and I arrived after 25 minutes hoping to catch the food fresh out of the kitchen. Nothing was on the tables for pickup and I had no problem waiting a few more minutes.

15 minutes later, nothing. 20 minutes later, still nothing. 25 minutes later and I was starting to get nervous because my partner's kids had to leave at a particular time. When I went to ask the staff about the delay, they said that they handle online orders first. What? That makes no sense - orders should be handled based on the time they come in. I waited some more and asked again if they had any indication of how much longer it would be so that I could try and pick something else up to salvage the night. I was then told that an iPad had crashed and that they were having to print off all the order tickets for the kitchen to handle, but that my order would be out shortly.

All of the waiting was made even better by the lady who decided to order a drink at the bar, remove her mask to drink it, and then proceed to schmooze with the rest of the patrons - maskless - the entire time I waited. I was there for 45 minutes total and so was she, maskeless and chatting up other patrons, without anyone from 302 saying anything to her.

It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get my order from the time I placed it. Even after all of that the order ended up being wrong for two of us, but we had to wolf it anyway because at that point it was too late to do anything about it. I'm seriously disappointed and don't know if I'll...

Lactose Intolerance Review

I have lactose intolerance so I must take lactase pills to help digest dairy. Often I avoid dairy but some places are just too good to avoid.

When my wife and I are in town, we stop here. It's a small burger spot with a large outdoor seating area.

The burgers are great. I've never had a chorizo burger before and they have one. I've also had their Wheaton burger which is their take on a classic burger. It's great. The pretzel bun is worth the extra dollar too.

The portion for fries is good for one person but not so big you can split the fries. The same goes for the burgers.

For this type of burger space I was surprised with the number of draft beer options. They carry mostly Illinois micro brews. They also seem to source all their ingredients from local producers or vendors. I really appreciated that.

The prices for the quality of food is the best part. I'm tired of paying 15+ dollars for a burger and getting nothing really special. This place charges 10 for their double burger, a dollar for a pretzel bun upgrade and two dollars for added bacon. The fully loaded burger would come to 13. Then if you get fries you're back to 15 dollars. These burgers are worth it.

The staff are really friendly and helpful. We really to appreciate their positive attitude and hospitality.

I'll say that with lactase pills I had little to no discomfort after my meal. They put American cheese on the burger. I would have appreciated the option to switch the cheese for cheddar. Cheddar is naturally low on n lactose. I still really enjoyed the...

My husband and I always saw this place and would say to ourselves," we have to remember to eat there next time!" Well, today we did. It was terrible. The menu was so limited. Burger, hotdog, grilled cheese. We ordered two Impossible burgers and my step son ordered a regular burger. When my husband paid, the screen asked for a tip so he did 15% . We sat down and waited for about 30 minutes even though there were maybe three other families there. When they called my husbands name to pick the food up at the counter, it was then I realized we had to grab all our own condiments etc. ( I began to wonder what we tipped for?? ) When we sat down I could already see they didn't give us the Impossible burgers. All three were just regular beef burger patties. We had waited too long to go up and ask for our order to be corrected so we ate the beef patties. All three burgers and all three orders of fries were cold. Not warm but cold. This place was sooooo disappointing. I would compare it to a run of the mill fast food joint but.....at least when you get fast food, it's hot....... Save...

302 Wheaton in downtown Wheaton is a great spot to visit. The friendly staff, good food, and fun atmosphere make it a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. The restaurant offers outdoor seating, which includes fun games like ping pong and yard Jenga, making it a lively place, especially during warmer months. However, during peak times, you might experience long waits. Despite this, the wait is often worth it for the quality of food and service. The menu features a variety of items, including their popular Chorizo Burger and Big Pretzel. The restaurant also provides kid-friendly options and has a decent selection of craft beers and other beverages. In colder weather, the outdoor seating might not be as appealing, but the interior maintains the same welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. For anyone in Wheaton, 302 Wheaton is definitely worth a visit, though you might want to avoid peak hours if you're in a hurry.

We had been meaning to try this place. This is an awesome casual place with easy food options and a heated tent perfect for wiggly kids. Great beer selection. Had the Chorizo burger, chicken fingers, and some fries. All yummy. Rather than a giant $10 pretzel I might want a $5 smaller one and i think some ice removal out on the patio might help the water accumulating under the tent.. BUT Truly we enjoyed ourselves and hope to see it stick around! Aren't a lot of places where you can enjoy the open air in the Winter. Update: summer 2023.. it is still fun and open air. I think they could use a couple giant connect fours or something for the kids. Not a major complaint at all.. it is still fun and they have a great beer selection tho I don't recommend their cocktails.
