SILVER SPRING WINGS — Restaurant in Wheaton

I tried Silver Spring Wings for the first time tonight and I was glad I did. After a lackluster wing experience elsewhere (never again) last week, I needed a do-ever. The pictures from Silver Spring Wings looked amazing. We tried both the Sweet Chili Thai Sauce and Old Bay Seasoned wings and the battered chicken tenders. To start the wings are proper crisp on the outside wings. Nothing mushy or greasy about them. I was fully expecting a bottled Sweet Thai Chili sauce flavor (and would have been ok with that) but instead their sauce tasted fresh with peppers in the sauce. Not spicy but unique and flavorful. The sauce doesn’t make the crisp wings soft. It was the perfect texture and perfect flavor ratio in every bite. The Old Bay Seasoned wings my friend had. He’s usually a Hot Honey Old Bay wing fan. So I wasn’t sure if just straight Old Bay Seasoning would be too salty. But he loved them. I had a chance to try a bite of the battered chicken tenders and they were absolutely the best chicken tenders I’ve ever tasted. The tender was juicy and well seasoned with a crisp crust. Perfect! We ordered the wings with the potato wedges and coleslaw as a combo and also ordered the veggie sticks. All of us raved about the wedges. Good seasoning and consistency and even the coleslaw was decent. The veggie sticks were a large serving and perfectly fresh. I would not hesitate to order from Silver Spring Wings again. I was asked multiple times where I got them from, so I’m sure I won’t be the only one who becomes a repeat...

The wings are extremely good. Definitely the best in the area. Not too small and not too big. They aren’t super overpriced.

A nice variety of flavors that all seem good though I’ve only tried four of them (Buffalo, Old Bay Buffalo, Jet Lag, and Mumbo). They do a very good job of making sure the wings are crispy while still having a good amount of sauce (something a lot of places can’t seem to figure out around here). The fries are great as well and the ranch might be up there with Wingstop’s.

Since it’s takeout only, I can’t really rate the atmosphere tbh but it’s not bad hence the 3 stars.

EDIT: So I had ordered through DoorDash and was told the store was closed despite them being open. My order was cancelled and when I attempted to place an online order, the next availability was the next day. I called the store with no answer so I assumed that it was a case of incorrect hours.

The owner called me to explain that their system is down (which DD didn’t really explain). He also wanted to make sure that my refund was processed and wanted to see if he could get me future coupons for the inconvenience. I was able to place my order over the phone so it all worked out!

I highly recommend this place. Just be aware that they are a small business so be patient in certain cases. They WILL take...

Just came here for the first time, it’s been in my “places to go” for a while. I love me some good wings so had to check it out after seeing the reviews. The wings were made to order and took around 25 or so minutes which is totally fine — they were hot and steaming when I received them, also to add they were very crispy when I first opened the box. I got the lemon pepper and honey siracha, both were pretty nice and I’ll be trying the San Antonio next time. Also the customer service was very good the cashier was able to recommend her go to and answered my questions, also they were able to give me an extra cup of ranch🙌. Keep in mind that they only accept cash if your placing your order inside but you can pay with card by scanning the barcode or going to the website. I believe it is only one cook/manager who was working the kitchen and hats off to him because there were other orders coming in as well.

I plan on coming back because I do want to for sure try their other flavors. For sure come check this place out, at first glance I couldn’t tell if they were open but indeed they were and am glad. Keep it...
