DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY FOOD ALLERGIES
My visit to Around Cafe this morning was genuinely shocking and appalling. While ordering a hot vanilla latte, I specifically informed the cashier that I have a nut allergy, as I do at most coffee places. After she failed to understand, I clarified it as a peanut allergy. Another employee then chimed in to assure me that there should be no peanuts "in this area" and pointed to the espresso machine. I took her assurance and paid for the coffee. However, while I waited, I clearly overheard multiple employees mocking my serious health concern as if I wasn't able to hear them. A customer's allergy is a safety issue and it is not a joke. The staff’s decision to openly ridicule a customer over a potentially life-threatening allergy is utterly disgraceful, unprofessional, and demonstrates a severe disregard for customer safety. Avoid this establishment if you have any food allergies. I have zero faith in their staff's professionalism or commitment to...
Read moreIt's not the best cafe I've ever been to. Not even the best cafe in downtown Arlington Heights.
I had a cappuccino that was served in a large cup, but must have been half foam from the weight of it. Not sure if that was intentional or not.
The chairs were not comfortable, and it felt like the doors never closed all the way. I had to keep my jacket on, but that didn't stop my feet from getting cold. Not the sort of place you can linger and enjoy the day. Maybe more of a place you get your drink and go.
The service was perfectly adequate. I gave the barista five dollars for a four dollar drink, and she didn't offer me my change. Maybe the taxes were exactly another dollar? I likely would've given her the change in her tip jar, but it just felt odd she didn't ask.
Overall, not a place I'll be coming back to. The vibe is...
Read moreThis location is the former Fiore. Completely different theme and level of customer service. The baristas are always smiling and delighted to whip up your choice. They serve a lot of coffee & tea variations. The best thing about this location is that it still serves Bubble Tea (Milk Tea). You get tired of driving to Coffee Haus or liquid fusion, let alone get a mucky dead feeling with the tight spaces and crap lighting. This place is completely renovated and the coffee is amazing. I personally have been here multiple times a day throughout the week. You have to try out their personal concoction 'Avocado Coffee', which is out of this world! Plenty of table space and benches to chill and all the Edison Bulb decor makes the place more lively. Next time you're in the area, come by this vibrant cafe and you won't be...
