HOW do you have a 4.5 review? I'd give you a zero if I could. I've had three experiences with Egg Harbor and EACH ONE WAS A DISASTER. The fact that people rave about this place makes me think they have kept my name flagged so that they can punish me EVERY TIME I ORDER.

EXPERIENCE 1: Uber Eats. Apparently the driver stole my food. I reordered, and Egg Harbor refused to fill the order according to the next driver. So for two hours, I was without food, but Egg Harbor couldn't call to tell me the situation the second time around? I could have ordered from somewhere else during that time. Are you punishing me for someone else's bad behavior?

EXPERIENCE 2: I ordered pick-up. There was a pick-up time. I arrived at pick-up time. My food wasn't ready. I get it. 4.5 star restaurant. I waited another 30 minutes beyond the designated pick-up time before I got my order.

EXPERIENCE 3: Today. I ordered pick-up again. I decided to arrive LATER than the designated pick up time. Still wasn't ready. Really? Now I'm getting suspicous. There were many empty tables in the restaurant. So I waited. And waited. And waited. 45 minutes passed and I realize I won't even have time to eat. I asked to just cancel my order. Someone said, "I could check ---" Really? I've been the one lonely person the three of you have been looking at for 45 minutes and you're going to check NOW? Someone else read the room and was quick to cancel my order. The other person magically came out with a bagged order. And how long has that been ready? How long has that been getting cold?

I'll give that one star to the person who didn't argue and just cancelled my order.

But guys, if I'm on some sort of blacklist, this...

I have been a patron of this place really on and off for the past few years. The most recent visit I was able to experience their renovated extended space that has made the wait much more reasonable and comfortable. A much needed expansion for their location. So the various times that I have visited the same thing always attracts me, That small town atmosphere and unique menu. However, this last visit assures me that I will not be back until I hear their have been changes made. Let me explain. I had jacks healthy scrambler, instead of me going into detail on how small of a portion this dish was please believe me it was disappointing. I wish I took a picture. This dish was 11 dollars. My guests were somewhat better in luck with portions, however the worst was the Acai bowl. This was a joke. The bowl was actually a small cup and the acai was not smoothie consistency but watery. 12 dollars for this one. All in all for the 4 of us it was 60 dollars and change. Trust me very disappointing. Seriously I would have had no problem spending maybe 8 at the most for that jacks scrambler but 11? Trust me much better places to go around Arlington Heights. This is not one of them until they wise up on their portions and relative pricing.

I would go to Golden Brunch cafe off of Golf road instead...

I've been to the location in Burr Ridge which set the stage for excellence and I expected as so from this location this past Sun (7/21) afternoon.

My Veggie Skillet was uncooked from the veggies and potatoes which were hard. Worst part was the server (millennial) who treated me unfairly with a subtle attitude because I was a single person on her table which I even told and urged the host to put me in a smaller table because I know how they depend on tips as I was a server for many years as well.

As I placed my order she sloppily poor coffee and spilt a little on my table and just walked away without addressing this. She never checked up with me on how the meal was or do I need anything else per a servers protocols for excellent service. I was almost done with my meal which I rushed it because I felt uncomfortable being here she just came by with no follow up and said "I am going to just leave this check here for you" and for the first time she had a smile and stated "Oh that was fast." I knew she was happy because she knew she'd get a more people to serve this more tips (of course depending on many people sat there).

I still left a 20% tips as a payoff to never...

My experience here was just okay. We were greeted promptly. Hostess put us at a table with two chairs facing a wall and 1/2 wall - not pleasant. They could have easily pulled this table away from the wall and put the chairs on opposite sides for a better view. Coffee was served leaving a mess on the table. She was trying to look fast and efficient, but poured the coffee missing the cups in the final seconds of the pour. She told us "Kelly" would be our server, but along came "Dave". Dave was nice, accommodating and polite. Our order arrived quickly. The Swedish Pancakes (the closest thing they have to crepes) was good. My skillet was not. It was as if they tossed frozen ingredients on a grill to heat them, tossed it into a warm skillet and then topped it with two eggs. You could actually hold this skillet with your bare hands, because it was NOT hot. Overpriced for mediocre food. Not a fan. All 3 stars go to Dave.

Warning. Extremely critical review ahead: Ordered shakshuka, was really craving it and egg harbor was the closest place serving it. Did not come with any toast (only english muffin with jelly) which in my opinion takes away the enjoyment of shakshuka, dipping the crunchy toast in the tomato / egg is the whole point of the dish. So I ordered some toast which came buttered with jelly on the side. Should've just told them I didn't want butter on it but was not expecting it to come pre-buttered, would prefer the fat from the egg saturating the toast instead of the butter which made the toast less crunchy. I was annoyed when I saw I spent $8 on toast that should've came with the dish anyways The actual dish was decent though. Like a 7/10. It got cold waiting for my toast to come though. Left full but dissatisfied. Other than that the server was very kind, fast and attentive. I'm sure the other dishes here are 10/10.

It's a great place to eat if your in the mood for something small & early. It has dividers & hand sanitizer on the tables, the price ranges to how hungry you are. There was alot of people, when one table left in less than 5 minutes somebody else sat down. For example two people from $13 - $22, the sad news was that I am a HUGE eater. There was nothing big on the menu to satisfy my hunger, everything on the menu was small portions that cost in average $11. The food was good, but not "finger licking good". The tea & coffe is free refill but each cost $3. Everybody was friendly even though I had to ask for extra napkins & more cream, but it arrived after requested. I got the chili omlette & shrimp and grits plate w/a side of sausage links.
