Buona — Restaurant in Wheeling Township

I have almost infinite patience when it comes to restaurants because I was in the business for over 20 years and I understand how hard it can be but I’ve lost count of how many mistakes these people make, it’s borderline total incompetence and absentmindedness. Tonight was the last straw. I ordered two vegan beefs with grilled onions and cheese and 2 regular beefs with grilled onions and cheese. I gave the employee who took my order over the phone my rewards number and I asked him if I have anything to redeem and he replied you have a free beef. I said I’d like to redeem that please. He said ok. Picked up the order and my mistake I trusted them again and when I got home, no cheese on any of the sandwiches, one of the sandwiches had no grilled onions, they only put one vegan beef (I’m vegetarian) not two, no free beef, no reward points on my entire order and the fries were cold and old. The bill was $60 and they charged me for everything! One thing they never fail to forget miraculously is to charge for every item and every dollar they can possibly charge. Get it together Buona, it’s cooking and following instructions on an order ticket, it’s not rocket science. When you charge customers for items they request give them those items. Clean environment. Each worker in the restaurant was wearing a mask. Lots of tables to choose from a few high boy tables too. Outdoor seating is also available. None of the tables were marked off, all were available, it's up to ourselves to keep are distance. Three big screen TV with different show/sports on. Menus available near the door for you to look at before reaching the counter. This location has a drive thru. Today we ate inside at first the air conditioner was a welcome relief but by the end of the meal we were freezing. My partner ordered a baptized big beef he really enjoyed it. He ordered a soft drink which you can self serve yourself which means refills are free. I ordered Buona Chicken and Avocado Bowl (protein bowl) they were able to make the way I requested it. They brought it to the table, offer to get me a fork and knife. Which I thought was so kind. (plastic ware individually wrapped) I had full piece of hot chicken breast up top my spinach, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. I left off the red peppers. It was delicious and filling. So today was the first time trying. I didn't know they had pizza and pasta. I went inside so I can study the menu for carryout. I ordered small fries, grilled chicken sandwich with no tomato and add cheddar, beef n cheddar croissant add lettuce , and chicken strips with BBQ buona sauce and ranch. The fries are no frills about average. It's really tough to make the perfect grilled chicken without making dry. This was slightly dry, could have used more mayo or maybe sauce I did end up putting bbq on it. The beef in the croissant definitely has that strong beef taste that many people might enjoy and it tastes good with the cheddar but it was pretty thin for a sandwich. Expected it to have more meat. Lastly the chicken fingers were great, they were tender, juicy and thick. I've been trying to find good chicken strips since denny's and IHOP changed theirs and this will definitely be a choice for me.
