I just got off the phone with someone at this I'm location. I don't even know if it was a manager or just another store worker because they didn't address themselves. I'm disappointed how they handled my situation which is why I'm writing this review. My husband and I used the drive thru to order a half dozen of donuts and coffee. We used the drive thru for the convenience and when they offer a drive thru we expect to receive the same the experience. We honestly haven't been to a Joe Donut location in a while so we were asking questions and switching out. The person helping us was nice and helpful. They gave us a wrong donut which was the specialty donut. The person I talked to adamantly believed we ordered the maple bacon which is not true because we would never order that in our lives. We wanted the apple fritter. We realized this as we got home on Chicago so we drove a long way and there was no way we would drive back. The person on the phone said we should have went inside instead of outside. I don't think that was the best way to go about solving the situation when there is a drive thru for a reason. They should close the drive thru if they can't correctly give away the orders. Nothing was done to accommodate this mistake so I wouldn't recommend anyone to come to this location. It would have been nice if they took my information down for the future to pick up a free donut or refund me the one donut, but nothing was given except to tell me to come inside next time. You would think we wou expect to receive better service than a more popular chain. The only reason why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the person helped us in the drive thru was nice when helping us. The person on the...
Read moreTL;DR - A regular 5 star dine-in experience, unfortunately marred by a 1 star take-out experience.
This is typically one of our favorite places for a quick weekend brunch without turning it into a whole brunch ordeal. However, today was the first time I've placed a to-go order here, and it was pretty rough. I ordered two entrees, coffees, and doughnuts to bring home. The coffee and doughnut were brought to me right away while I sat at a table to wait for the rest. They were in a bit of a lunch rush with dine-in customers, so I expected to wait a bit longer than usual. However, after the rush had died down, I watched and heard every staff member go take breaks, with no clear sign of my food. I got up to ask someone about it, and in doing so saw that an order of two entrees was sitting on their online ordering pickup shelf. Sure enough, it was my food, sitting there for who knows how long. This would be fine if they'd communicated that expectation with me, but I was never told any such thing - in fact, the delivery of my coffees to my table implied they knew to find me there for the entrees later. When trying to offer this feedback, the kid behind the counter seemed to miss my point entirely when I tried to explain it to him, so I left for home with my cold food... only to find they had left out the sauces that were supposed to come with my wife's chicken.
With that rant out of the way, I'd definitely recommend dining in here! But I would more strongly recommend you avoid their lack of...
Read moreI used to really like this restaurant but had an absolutely ridiculous experience and got such a run around. I won’t be returning. I placed an online order only to arrive to find the place closed and deserted. Despite the business hours sign on the door saying they should be open. Called the next day to ensure they didn’t process my order and they couldn’t do anything because they needed a manager (who seems to never be around/available). Called the next day and they told me Toast (who I ordered through) should be refunding since they updated their hours. A week goes by, the payment posts and I have no refund. I have to call again and am told the owner instructed them to tell customers to call toast to get a refund (which is ABSURD because it is the restaurants fault, not mine why do I have to keep calling and asking to get my money back). I called Toast who says they can’t process a refund without the restaurant confirming. Toast is kind enough to call while I’m on the line to get it done and they kept getting an automated message when they called (seems really suspicious that the restaurant blocked toast?) because when I called and merged the calls it went through no problem. Such a ridiculous circus that should have been the restaurant reaching out when they saw orders came in after they closed. Terrible business practice to make your customers seek out a refund when you couldn’t even update your proper...
