My wife and I went to grab some dinner at Fausto's after reading all the rave reviews, and were horribly disappointed. There are all sorts of potentially delicious entrees in a display case, but all of them looked like they had been cooked much earlier in the day and had been sitting out. You know how cheese looks after it's been sitting around for hours? That's everything there, including a whole pizza. I knew that if I ordered anything I could see, I would just be getting a reheated disappointment, so I went for the Italian beef sandwich and my wife ordered a margherita panini. Hard to mess those up, right?
Sadly, my Italian beef was extremely mediocre. I won't say it was bad -- it wasn't -- but it was the kind of thing I'd expect from a school lunch. I asked for cheese, they didn't even bother to melt it on. And the quantity of beef was extremely small, maybe 1/2 inch of meat which seemed to have been put in a toaster oven for two minutes. The bread was fine, but nothing I can't get at any grocery store. I can get a far better sandwich at Portillo's, Buona Beef, or Potbelly for less money.
My wife's panini was sadder. There wasn't much cheese, and the basil? One small leaf (see the photo). That was insulting. I honestly could make a better sandwich at home, and I can barely fry an egg. We paid $6.99.
As if all that weren't disappointing enough, our can of Coke was $1.49, and it was flat. How do you mess up a can of Coke? Fausto's managed.
I debated whether this was a 1 or 2 star review, because when I give something 1 star, it has to be pretty bad. The food we had was certainly edible and did not taste horrible or make us sick. But ultimately I would never return, and I think that's worth a single star.
I will allow for one possibility: this place might be far better at lunch time when I assume all of this food is fresh. But even if it were, I can't help but think that what we received was effectively cafeteria food that is easily beaten by local fast food chains. I'm going to stop putting so much faith in yelp...
Read moreFausto’s Italian Kitchen and Catering This pizza restaurant has absolutely delicious pizza Sandwiches Subs and Italian food Which would include an awesome stand out turkey sandwich and a meatball sandwich They use the freshest ingredients Very generous portion sizes With reasonable pricing A very friendly atmosphere With personable service and a family vibe I have to say from the moment I walked in the door. I was just blown away. It feels like you walked into a storefront in Italy that gives very mom and Papa vibes from just the time of me doing a video review and just kind of checking the store out. It seems like every customer that came in the door. They knew them by name personally, which was very impressive. Many people came and went looking to do catering for their party.
Major shout out to Leonard for letting me walk around the restaurant and shoot some video reviews again thank you brother for the cannoli and the lemonade. They were absolutely delicious. I shared some with my wife and she was pleasantly impressed as well. This is an absolutely charming Italian kitchen brings the old country to you here in the US.
I’ve made it my personal mission to bring my wife back to this location and to try a few more of the menu items just because everything here is just so delicious. They also have a very nice patio area for outside dining As umbrellas and such to cover the tables and it is very nice. If you have not tried Fausto’s Italian kitchen and catering I highly recommend that you do from my own personal experience, enjoying it personally, as well as the many clients that I saw come and go that complemented the food as well. As in the videos you’ll hear a customer complementing the food that they’ve tried the food that they’re currently ordering and the food that they’re coming back to get so if you haven’t tried Fausto’s yet I highly recommend you do your taste buds...
Read moreLet me tell you something! This family owned Italian restaurant was exactly what we envisioned for my sisters baby shower.
We love supporting local businesses and family own businesses but this place tops it all. My mom and I came in to try out each dish to see which we’d like to have catered and when I say they truly cater you, they exceed many other fancy shmancy Italian places I’ve tried. their kind hearts and hospitality is beyond up to par. We came for lunch and we under estimated the portion size for each dish we needed to get another table. Everything and I mean everything on the menu satisfied our cravings. This place is truly family friendly.
I’m grateful for their business and the owner, daughter and son. They have wonderful meaningful conversations as if we’ve known them for ages but Extremely professional when it comes to business. They offered advise on how much to order as they frequently are requested for many events. We estimated almost 100 people thinking that if we ordered a certain amount we would be okay. I’m glad he guided us otherwise because when I tell you that my sisters guests came back for 2nds and 3rds!!! Their catering timing was on the spot! There was almost nothing left to bring for ourselves to enjoy when the party ended.
I’d definitely give this place a recommend to everyone since every single guest asked where and who and how much & if I had a business card! The prices were a steal!
As always we will be back for desserts and more of your delicious food soon friend; we couldn’t have asked for a better restaurant to help out on such an...
